# Dolphin pool cleaner error codes and power supply lights

Dolphin pool cleaner error codes are shown as power supply light colors, not numbers. Maytronics manuals define a steady red light as a fault, orange as a clogged filter, and blue or green as connection and timer states.

## Short answer

Maytronics does not publish number error codes for its Dolphin cleaners. The power supply light is the code: steady red means a fault, orange (on selected models) means the filter is clogged, and blinking blue or green relates to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or the timer. For a red light, Maytronics says to check that the floating cable is connected, clear the impeller, tracks and wheels, and make sure the robot is fully underwater.

| Light on the power supply | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| On/Off LED steady red | Fault | Check the floating cable connection, clear the impeller, tracks and wheels, and make sure the cleaner is in the water |
| On/Off LED orange (selected models) | Filter clogged | Clean the filter |
| On/Off LED steady blue | Power supply on, cleaner working | Nothing |
| On/Off LED flashing green | Waiting for the next run (delay or weekly timer) | Nothing, or change the schedule |
| On/Off LED alternating blue, green and red | Remote program update in progress | Wait until it finishes |
| No light at all | No power reaching the supply | Check the outlet, switch, cable seating and GFCI; turn off, wait 30 seconds, turn on |
| Connectivity LED flashing blue | Waiting for a Bluetooth connection | Turn phone Bluetooth off and on, move closer, power cycle the supply |
| Connectivity LED steady blue | Connected by Bluetooth | Nothing |
| Connectivity LED flashing green | On home Wi-Fi, trying to reach the cloud, or weak signal | Reset the supply and wait 1 minute; move it closer to the router or add a 2.4 GHz extender |
| Connectivity LED steady green | Connected to Wi-Fi and the cloud | Nothing |
| Connectivity LED alternating blue and green | On Bluetooth and connected or connecting to the cloud | Nothing |

## Why Dolphin has lights instead of codes

Maytronics manuals for its connected Dolphin models describe two LEDs on the power supply: an On/Off LED and a connectivity LED. The color and blink pattern of each tells you the state. The robot itself also has an indicator: in the M700 manual, blinking blue is normal operation, blinking green means remote or phone communication, and constant red means a robot error.

Not every light in the table exists on every Dolphin. The manuals mark the orange filter light as selected models only, and the connectivity LED only matters on models with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Check the manual for your exact model number.

## Steady red light: fix steps from Maytronics

Maytronics lists three causes for a red light with a cleaner that does not move: the blue floating cable is not connected, something is jammed in the impeller, tracks or wheels, or the cleaner is out of the water.

- Turn off and unplug the power supply before touching the robot.

- Check that the floating cable is firmly connected to the power supply.

- Open the impeller cover and remove any trapped debris such as leaves, hair or string.

- Check that nothing blocks the tracks or wheels.

- Put the robot back fully underwater, then power the supply on again.

## Cleaner runs but does not clean properly

These problems do not trigger a light, but the Maytronics troubleshooting tables cover them. Moving in circles usually means a clogged filter, debris in the impeller housing, a badly placed power supply, or algae and water chemistry out of range. Not climbing walls points to a dirty filter, algae on the walls, wrong pH or impeller debris.

If the robot cleans only part of the pool, move the power supply so the cable reaches the whole pool and release more floating cable. The M700 manual says to keep the supply at least 3.5 m (12 ft) from the pool edge and 11 cm (4 in) above the ground. A kinked cable can be stretched out and left in the sun for at least a day.

## When to contact support

Contact your Dolphin dealer or Maytronics customer care if the supply shows no light after you have checked the outlet, cable and GFCI, if the red light returns after you clear the impeller, tracks and cable, or if Bluetooth will not connect after a power cycle. Have the model and serial number ready.

Warranty length depends on the model. In our data the Sigma and Premier carry 3 years, the Cayman 2 years, and the Nautilus EON 120d 1 year on the Nautilus listing (3 years on the store exclusive EON 120d listing).

## Questions people ask

### Why is my Dolphin power supply light red?

A steady red On/Off LED means a fault. Maytronics lists a disconnected floating cable, a blocked impeller, tracks or wheels, or the cleaner being out of the water as the causes.

### What does an orange light on a Dolphin power supply mean?

On models that have it, a steady orange light means the filter is clogged. Clean the filter and restart.

### Why is my Dolphin power supply blinking green?

On the On/Off LED, flashing green means the cleaner is waiting for its next scheduled run. On the connectivity LED, flashing green means it is on Wi-Fi and trying to reach the cloud, or the signal is weak.

### How do I reset a Dolphin pool cleaner?

Maytronics manuals say to turn off the power supply, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. For Wi-Fi problems, reset the supply and wait one minute before trying again.
