# eufy RoboVac keeps getting stuck: causes and fixes

A eufy RoboVac that keeps getting stuck is usually climbing onto thick or fringed carpet, catching debris in its wheels, running with a stuck bumper, or meeting the same trap in one spot of your home. Here are the causes and fixes from eufy's support center, matched to the alert you hear.

## Short answer

Free the robot, clear the area, and check the wheels: pull out anything wrapped around them, then tap them so they spring back. Tap the front bumper to make sure it moves. If it keeps sticking on the same carpet or under the same furniture, set a no go zone in the eufy app, use boundary strips on models that support them, or move the rug.

| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Error 5 (G series) | Robot physically trapped | Pause it, clear the obstacles or move it, then start again. |
| "Wheel stuck. Check the wheel" | Objects caught around a wheel | Clear the gap between wheel and body, turn the wheel by hand, and tap it to check it springs back. |
| "Error: Wheel module error" | Wheel or wheel motor fault | Check and turn the wheel. If the alert stays, press Feedback in the app to contact eufy. |
| "Front bumper stuck, please tap the bumper" | Bumper jammed | Tap the bumper so it moves. If it stays stuck, remove it and refit it. |
| "Robot trapped, please move to an open area" | Obstacles around the robot | Move it to open floor. Set a no go zone if it keeps happening in one spot. |
| Stuck on a thick rug | Pile over 26 mm (10 mm on G20), or fringes | Block the rug with a no go zone or boundary strips, or roll it up during cleaning. |
| Stuck crossing a rug to another room | Rug thicker than 17 mm to cross | Route around it with a no go zone, or remove the rug. |
| "Robot not touching the ground" | Wheels lifted off the floor | Move the robot to a new position on flat floor. |
| "Robot tilted" | Robot started on uneven ground | Move it onto level floor before starting. |
| "Laser sensor may be stuck" | Something blocking the LiDAR turret | Remove any object stopping the laser sensor from turning. |
| Getting worse over months | Worn wheel treads or a sticky bumper | Check the bumper moves and the wheel treads are not worn. Replace worn wheels. |

## 1. Free it and clear the spot

On G series robots, Error 5 means the RoboVac is physically stuck and cannot navigate out. eufy's fix is simple: pause the robot, clear obstacles around it or move it somewhere else, then start it again to see if it runs normally. Newer robots say "Robot trapped" instead and ask you to move them to an open area. If it happens in the same place again and again, eufy recommends a no go zone on the map.

## 2. Check the wheels and the bumper

If the robot was fine at first and started getting stuck later, eufy points to the hardware. Its steps:

- Turn the robot over and check the gap between each wheel and the body. Remove hair, string or debris.

- Turn each wheel by hand to make sure it moves freely.

- Tap or shake each wheel to check it springs back. Compare the two wheels to spot a weak one.

- Check the wheel treads are not worn smooth.

- Tap the front bumper to make sure it moves. If it is stuck, remove the bumper and reinstall it.

- Check nothing is stopping the laser sensor on top from turning, and nothing is jamming its cover.

## 3. Carpets and rugs

Carpet is the most common trap eufy describes. Most RoboVacs handle low to medium pile up to 26 mm (1.02 in), the G20 series only up to 10 mm, and the G10 Hybrid hard floors only. To cross a rug on the way to another area, the rug must be under 17 mm (0.67 in). Thick wool and fringed rugs can trap any model.

The fix depends on your model. On robots with mapping, such as the L35, L50, L60, L70 and X8 series, set a no go zone around the rug. On models that support them, lay magnetic boundary strips around the rug. On models with neither, block the rug with a physical barrier or remove it while the robot runs.

## 4. Tilted, lifted or lost robots

Some alerts look like stuck errors but are about position. "Robot not touching the ground" means its wheels are off the floor, so move it to a new spot. "Robot tilted" means it started on uneven ground. "Entered a No Go Zone by mistake" and "On the carpet by mistake" mean it is inside an area you blocked or on a carpet while carpet avoidance is on; move it out before starting. If the robot gets stuck in one area only, eufy asks you to email photos of the spot to its support team.

## 5. Replace a wheel, call eufy, or replace the robot?

A wheel module error alert means the wheel or its motor has failed, and eufy asks you to press Feedback in the app to reach customer service. Worn treads are a wear item; eufy publishes wheel replacement videos for the X8 series and bumper replacement videos for many RoboVacs, so wheels and bumpers are parts you can swap.

Contact eufy first if the robot is under warranty. Out of warranty, a wheel or bumper costs far less than a new robot. If your home is full of thick or fringed rugs that your model cannot handle, a robot rated for higher pile may be the better fix.

## Questions people ask

### What does Error 5 mean on a eufy RoboVac?

On G series robots it means the robot is physically stuck. Pause it, clear obstacles or move it, then start again.

### Why does my eufy robot keep getting stuck on my rug?

eufy says most RoboVacs handle pile up to 26 mm, and rugs over 17 mm are hard to cross. Thick wool and fringes trap them. Use a no go zone, boundary strips or remove the rug.

### How do I fix a eufy wheel stuck error?

Clear anything caught between the wheel and body, turn the wheel by hand, and tap it to check it springs back. If the alert stays, contact eufy.

### Do eufy boundary strips work on every model?

No. eufy says some models, such as the L35 Hybrid and LR30 Hybrid series, do not support them. Use no go zones in the app instead.

### Why does my eufy robot say the front bumper is stuck?

The bumper is jammed. Tap it so it moves freely; if that fails, remove and reinstall it.
