# eufy RoboVac won't connect to WiFi: causes and fixes

A eufy RoboVac that won't connect to WiFi is usually on a 5 GHz or mesh network it cannot use, missing location permission in the eufy app, or not in WiFi setup mode. Here are the fixes from eufy's support center, in the order eufy suggests.

## Short answer

Connect your phone to a 2.4 GHz network, move the phone and robot near the router, and turn on location access (precise location) for the eufy app. Put the phone in airplane mode with only WiFi on, then reset the robot's WiFi until you hear the reset WiFi alert and try again. Only a solid blue light means the RoboVac is connected.

| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Setup fails on your home network | Phone or robot on 5 GHz | Connect to the 2.4 GHz network. Most RoboVacs need 2.4 GHz; eufy says the L60 also supports 5 GHz. |
| Fails on a mesh system | Mesh uses one name for both bands | Move the robot and phone far from the mesh nodes so they land on the 2.4 GHz band. |
| Robot never appears in the app | Location permission off | Turn on GPS and allow location, including precise location, for the eufy app. |
| Drops out partway through setup | Phone switching to cellular data | Turn on airplane mode, then turn WiFi back on so cellular stays off. |
| WiFi light not flashing | Robot not in setup mode | Hold the start button 10+ seconds until you hear the reset WiFi alert. On L50, L60 and L70, hold both top buttons. |
| Light flashing quickly | Robot is connecting | Wait. Only a solid blue light means it is connected. |
| Fails after you enter the password | Wrong network name or password | Retype both. They are case sensitive. |
| Slow or busy network | Too many devices on the router | Disconnect a few devices and try again close to the router. |
| Connects to a hotspot, not your router | Router setting or band problem | Your router is the issue. Check its 2.4 GHz band, then contact eufy with a short video of setup. |
| "Error: WiFi or Bluetooth error" | WiFi or Bluetooth module fault | Press Feedback in the app to contact eufy customer service. |

## 1. Get on the right band

eufy's first check is the network. Your phone must be on a 2.4 GHz WiFi network during setup, because the eufy app connects RoboVacs on 2.4 GHz. eufy notes the L60 can also use 5 GHz. Move the robot and your phone close to the router.

Mesh systems are the usual trap. They broadcast one network name for both 2.4 and 5 GHz, so you cannot pick the band. eufy's workaround is to carry the robot and phone as far from the mesh nodes as you can while still holding a signal. The 2.4 GHz band reaches further than 5 GHz, so at the edge of coverage you are more likely to be on 2.4 GHz. If your router can split the bands into two names, that also works.

## 2. Set up your phone

eufy lists a few phone settings that cause most failed setups:

- Turn on GPS and give the eufy app location access. If there is a precise location option, turn it on.

- Turn on airplane mode, then turn WiFi back on, so the phone cannot fall back to cellular data.

- Check the WiFi name and password, including capital letters.

- Disconnect a few other devices from the router and try again.

## 3. Reset the robot's WiFi and read the light

Put the robot in setup mode. On most RoboVacs, press and hold the start button on top for 10 seconds or more until you hear a beep or a reset WiFi voice alert. On L70, L50 and L60 series robots, hold both buttons on top until you hear the alert. On the X10 Pro Omni, hold Recharge and Spot Cleaning together for 3 seconds. Make sure you hear the alert before continuing.

Then watch the WiFi light. A slow flash means ready to connect, a fast flash means connecting, and only a solid blue light means connected. eufy publishes connection videos for iOS and Android for many models if a step in the app is unclear.

## 4. Test with a phone hotspot

To find out whether the robot or the router is at fault, eufy suggests connecting the RoboVac to a personal hotspot from another phone. If it connects to the hotspot but not your home network, the router is the problem: check that its 2.4 GHz band is on and that you are not stuck on a mesh 5 GHz band.

If the robot keeps making voice alerts or the connection is unstable on an X10 Pro Omni, eufy's steps are to power it off and on, reset its WiFi, and press the Reset button to force a restart. That restart does not restore factory settings, delete the map or reset the network.

## 5. When to contact eufy

If it will not connect to any network, including a hotspot, contact eufy support. eufy asks for your eufy Clean account email and a short video of the WiFi setup process. A voice alert for a WiFi or Bluetooth error means the module itself is faulty, and eufy asks you to press Feedback in the app.

A robot that cannot connect is not useless. You lose app features such as maps, no go zones and schedules, but the start button on top still runs a clean. A WiFi module fault on a robot under warranty is a repair claim, not a reason to replace it.

## Questions people ask

### Does eufy RoboVac work with 5 GHz WiFi?

Most RoboVacs need 2.4 GHz. eufy says the L60 can also use 5 GHz. Check your model before setup.

### How do I reset the WiFi on my eufy RoboVac?

Hold the start button for 10+ seconds until you hear the reset WiFi alert. On L50, L60 and L70, hold both top buttons. On the X10 Pro Omni, hold Recharge and Spot Cleaning for 3 seconds.

### What do the eufy WiFi lights mean?

Slow flashing means ready to connect, fast flashing means connecting, and solid blue means connected.

### Why won't my eufy robot connect to my mesh WiFi?

Mesh uses one name for both bands. Move the robot and phone far from the nodes so they join the 2.4 GHz band, or split the bands in your router settings.

### Why does the eufy app need my location?

eufy lists location access, including precise location, as a requirement for finding the robot during WiFi setup.
