# LG CLOiD price, release date and status (October 2026)

LG has not announced a price for its CLOiD home robot, and as of October 2026 you cannot buy, preorder or reserve one. LG is using CLOiD units for training in its own robot data factory in Seoul, and Korean press reports a 2028 target for a home robot, which LG has not confirmed as a launch date.

## Short answer

There is no LG CLOiD price as of October 2026. LG has not opened orders, a waitlist or a deposit, and has no product page with a price. CEO Lyu Jae-cheol said at CES 2026 that LG would take CLOiD into real world settings around 2027 and set a launch date based on those results. Korean media report LG is aiming for a commercial home robot by 2028, but LG has not announced that date or any price. For now CLOiD units are working inside LG's own training facility, not in customers' homes.

## What CLOiD costs

LG has not published a price for CLOiD as of October 2026. Its January 2026 announcement, its CES 2026 materials and its August 2026 robotics update with NVIDIA all leave out price and availability. Physical AI Lab, which checked LG's releases in August 2026, found no price, product page, reservation route or delivery date.

Some robot database sites show estimated figures or extra specs. Those are not from LG, so do not use them to budget. For comparison with robots that do have prices, 1X NEO is $20,000 and SwitchBot lists its onero H1 at $9,999.

## Release date: what LG has actually said

At CES 2026, LG CEO Lyu Jae-cheol told reporters, as quoted by The Korea Times on January 8, 2026: "we plan to move the robot out of the laboratory and into real-world settings around next year." He said the launch date "will be determined based on the results of that demonstration," and that the timeline could move up because robotics is advancing quickly.

In June 2026, The Korea Herald and Tech Times reported, citing industry sources, that LG is targeting a commercial home robot by 2028. Tech Times also quoted a robotics official who thought a living room launch could be closer to 2030. LG has not confirmed either year as a CLOiD release date.

So as of October 2026, there is no release date. Anyone who tells you CLOiD is coming out this year or next is going beyond what LG has said.

## Where CLOiD is now: the data factory

LG moved CLOiD from show stage to training. Labo Maison reported on August 3, 2026 that LG had started pilot production of CLOiD units, disclosed with its second quarter results, and that these units are training tools, not consumer products. Since July 1, 2026, LG's robot work sits in a new Robotics Business Center that reports to the CEO.

LG's August 18, 2026 press release describes a Data Factory at its Yangjae R&D campus in Seoul. It includes a replica home where CLOiD practices cleaning and a mock factory area where CLOiD units move, stack and assemble parts. LG says the site will hold several hundred robots and be fully running by the end of 2026, with data feeding NVIDIA's robot training tools. The Korea Herald reported plans for 100 CLOiD units from July 2026 and 300 by year end, per industry sources.

Tech Times reported in June that LG is also looking at using CLOiD in its own factories, starting with moving materials, as early as the end of 2026. In short, the first CLOiD jobs are in LG buildings, not homes.

## What LG says CLOiD can do

These are LG claims. CLOiD is a wheeled robot with a humanoid upper body. Its torso tilts so it can pick things up from knee level and above. The head holds a chip, display, speaker, cameras and sensors, and it talks using voice based generative AI.

LG says CLOiD runs a vision language model and a vision language action model trained on "tens of thousands of hours of household task data." It connects to LG's ThinQ smart home platform and ThinQ ON hub, so LG fridges and ovens can open their doors as it approaches.

- Two arms, 7 degrees of freedom each (maker spec)

- Five independently actuated fingers per hand (maker spec)

- Wheeled base using LG robot vacuum and Q9 driving tech; no stairs

- Low center of gravity that LG says lowers tipping risk if a child or pet bumps it

- Demo tasks: milk from the fridge, croissant into the oven, starting laundry, folding and stacking clothes, opening doors, handing over objects

- Height, weight, battery life, payload and noise not published by LG

## What independent reporters saw

Engadget's Karissa Bell watched a "very carefully choreographed 15-minute presentation" at CES on January 7, 2026. CLOiD took milk from the fridge, put a croissant in the oven, sorted and folded laundry and handed keys to a presenter. She wrote that it "moved very slowly" and that LG had made no firm commitments beyond the demo.

LG's own CEO agreed. He told The Korea Times, "It is true that CLOiD is currently much slower than we aim for," and said safety and reliability came first, with speed to improve through large scale training. LG showed CLOiD again at IFA Berlin in September 2026, where it led an "AI Orchestra" show, but press reports from IFA gave no new price or date.

No one outside LG has tested CLOiD in a real home as of October 2026, and we have not tried one.

## Teleoperation, privacy and safety

Tech Times reported that LG says the CES towel folding was autonomous, unlike rivals that used recorded video or remote control. LG has not said whether a future home version would use remote human operators. Physical AI Lab notes LG has not fully disclosed how much help the demos had.

LG has not published a privacy policy for CLOiD. It has cameras in its head and ties into ThinQ, so ask where video is processed, how long it is kept, and who can see it before any purchase. On safety, LG cites the low center of gravity. It has not published stop controls, force limits or safety certifications.

US buyers should also know that on July 28, 2026 the FCC added new foreign produced home robots to its Covered List, so new models made outside the US need an exemption before FCC approval. LG has not said where a home CLOiD would be built.

## Should you wait for CLOiD?

Only if you are patient. CLOiD shows a major appliance maker is serious about home robots, and its tie in with LG appliances is unique. But there is no price, no date and no spec sheet, and LG's own next step is more training and trials.
