# Mammotion LUBA won't charge or dock: causes and fixes

A Mammotion LUBA that won't charge usually is not seated on the charging contacts, has a charging station with no power or a fault, is outside its 39°F to 113°F charging range, or has a loose security key. Here are the fixes from Mammotion's help center and user manual.

## Short answer

Check the station LED. Off means no power, solid red means a station fault, and on the LUBA mini 2 a blinking green LED means the mower is docked while solid green means it is not. Make sure the station sits flat and firmly staked with 5 ft clear in front and to the sides, and keep the charging ports clean and dry. If LUBA will not turn on, reseat the key, then try a factory reset.

| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Station LED off | No power to the station | Check the power supply is connected and plugged into a working outdoor outlet. |
| Station LED solid red | Charging station malfunction | Contact Mammotion support. |
| Station LED solid green with LUBA on it (LUBA mini 2) | Mower not seated on the contacts | Dock it again. The mower's side LED should turn red when properly docked. |
| Mower side LED blinks slowly red | Security key not seated, or low battery or stuck | Check the key is installed properly at the back of the mower. |
| Mower aligns again and again but never docks | Station on a slope, loose, or with too little room | Put it on flat, solid ground, stake it down, and keep 5 ft (1.5 m) clear in front and both sides. |
| Will not charge in hot or cold weather | Outside the 39°F to 113°F (4°C to 45°C) charging range | Wait for the temperature to return to range. |
| Return to charge does nothing | LUBA is outside a task area | Move it into a mapped task area, then tap the charging option on the Map page. |
| Will not turn on, even on the station | Key glitch or deeply discharged battery | Unplug and reinsert the key. Then try a factory reset. |
| Battery stays at 0% after long charging | Battery or charging fault | Mammotion says to send it in for repair. |
| Docking fails near trees or walls | Poor positioning at the station | Move the station to a more open area. |
| Will not charge after winter | Battery over discharged in storage | Recharge to at least 80% every 90 days in storage. |

## 1. Read the station LED

The LUBA mini 2 AWD manual lists four station states: blinking green means the robot is docked, solid green means it is not on the station, solid red means a station malfunction, and off means no power. Mammotion's newer installation guide says the LED on the side of the station and the robot's own LED turn red when docking succeeds, and the robot's side LED pulses red while charging. Older LUBA help articles describe a flashing station LED while charging. Check the manual for your station version.

If the LED is off, confirm the power supply is connected to the station and plugged into a working outlet. Mammotion says to use only the included power supply.

## 2. Fix the docking spot

Mammotion says a loose or badly placed station causes docking failure, unstable alignment and inconsistent charging.

- Install on flat, solid ground, never on a slope.

- Keep at least 5 ft (1.5 m) clear in front and on both sides.

- Choose open sky near the lawn edge, not a tight corner or under trees or a roof edge.

- Stake the station down. Use expansion bolts on concrete.

- Peg the cable so it is not pulling on the station.

- Keep the charging ports on the robot clean and dry.

## 3. Key, temperature and the battery

LUBA uses a removable security key at the back. If the side LED blinks slowly red, check the key is fully seated. The manual gives a charging range of 39°F to 113°F (4°C to 45°C), so it will not charge outside that.

If LUBA will not turn on, put it on the station. If the station LED shows it is charging, leave it. If not, unplug the key and plug it back in. If it still will not start, follow Mammotion's factory reset, which erases the map. Mammotion says to send the mower for repair if it turns on but the battery stays at 0% after long charging, or if it still will not turn on.

## 4. Storage and long life

Mammotion says to charge to at least 80% before long storage and top up to 80% every 90 days, even when unused. Store the robot indoors below 14°F (minus 10°C), cleaned, dry and fully charged, with anti corrosion lubricant on the charging pads only. Bring the station indoors below minus 4°F (minus 20°C).

## 5. Warranty and when to replace

The LUBA mini 2 manual lists a 3 year warranty on the battery. Keep proof of purchase and the serial number, and contact the dealer first if you bought from one. A solid red station LED, or a battery that stays at 0%, is a warranty case, so do not buy parts until support has looked at it. These fixes come from Mammotion's support pages and manual; we do not test mowers hands on.
