# Segway Navimow won't connect to the app: causes and fixes

A Navimow that won't connect to the app is usually out of Bluetooth range, missing app permissions, on a 5 GHz network or a WiFi name with special characters, or has expired 4G service. Here are the fixes from Segway Navimow's support pages.

## Short answer

Stay within about 10 ft (3 m) of the mower, turn Bluetooth on and give the app Bluetooth and Location permission. For WiFi, use the 2.4 GHz band, a network name with only letters and numbers, and a password of 64 characters or fewer. If 4G stopped working, check the service has not expired, then switch to WiFi only and back to 4G. Restart the mower, router and app.

| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| App cannot find the mower over Bluetooth | Bluetooth off, glitching, or the phone too far away | Toggle Bluetooth, restart the phone, and stay within about 3 m (10 ft). |
| Bluetooth still fails | App missing Bluetooth or Location permission | Grant both in the app permissions, reopen the app and reconnect. |
| WiFi network not accepted | Network name has special characters or emoji, or password over 64 characters | Rename the network in the router with letters and numbers only, and keep the password to 64 characters or fewer. |
| Mower cannot see your WiFi | Router on 5 GHz only | Connect the mower to the 2.4 GHz band. Navimow does not support 5 GHz. |
| Mower Disconnected | Weak WiFi at the mower or router trouble | Move the router closer, add an extender, or try a different WiFi network. |
| Drops off WiFi with many devices | Router at its device limit or overloaded | Raise the device limit or restart the router. Update router firmware. |
| Works on a phone hotspot only | Problem is the router, home internet or WiFi strength | Fix the router or extend coverage, or run the mower on 4G only. |
| 4G not connecting | 4G service expired | Renew under Settings, Mower, My Device, Network and complete payment. |
| 4G worked before, now fails | Temporary glitch or weak 4G signal | Restart mower, app and phone. Switch to WiFi only, wait, then back to 4G. Or stay on WiFi only. |
| Error 4007 or 4008 | Bluetooth or IoT module communication abnormal | Restart and try again. Contact after sales if it persists. |
| Connection problems after updates | Outdated mower firmware or app | Update the app in the App Store or Google Play and the firmware under Settings, Mower, Device Management. |

## 1. Fix Bluetooth

Turn Bluetooth on, or toggle it off for a few minutes and back on, then restart the phone. In the Navimow app settings, open Permissions and make sure Bluetooth and Location are allowed. Stay within about 10 ft (3 m) of the mower. In the phone's Bluetooth settings, the mower shows up under its serial number in Available Devices or More Devices. Restart both the mower and the app if it still fails.

## 2. Fix WiFi

Navimow mowers only connect on 2.4 GHz. Check these in order:

- Network name uses only letters and numbers, no special characters or emoji.

- Password is 64 characters or fewer.

- Router is broadcasting 2.4 GHz.

- Router has not hit its maximum device limit. Raise it or restart the router.

- Router firmware is up to date. If signal is weak at the lawn, move the router or add an extender.

- Test with a phone hotspot under Settings, Mower, My Device, Network. If the hotspot works, the problem is your router or home internet.

## 3. Fix 4G

Check that the 4G service is active. If it expired, renew it in the app under Settings, Mower, My Device, Network. If 4G worked before, restart the mower, app and phone. To reset the link, choose WiFi only, wait a few minutes, then switch back to 4G; the change can take 1 to 2 minutes. If 4G is weak at your address, use WiFi only. If WiFi keeps failing on a model with Access+, Navimow's i1 FAQ suggests setting Only 4G.

## 4. Update the firmware and app

Old firmware causes connection bugs. Update the app from the App Store or Google Play. Update the mower under Settings, Mower, Device Management with the mower on its station, a stable connection, at least 20% battery and no mowing in the next hour. If WiFi is the problem, switch to 4G only first and then update.

## 5. When to contact support

If none of this works, email support-navimow@rlm.segway.com. For WiFi faults, Navimow asks for the times you tried, a screenshot of your phone's WiFi settings, a video of the app connection attempt, photos of the mower's spot and its distance from the router, the serial number and your phone model. Keep the mower powered on. Error 4007 or 4008 that keeps returning after restarts points to the Bluetooth or IoT module, which is a support repair. These fixes come from Navimow's support pages; we do not test mowers hands on.

## Questions people ask

### Does Navimow work with 5 GHz WiFi?

No. Navimow says its mowers only support the 2.4 GHz band at this time.

### Why won't my Navimow find my WiFi network?

Usually 5 GHz only, a network name with special characters or emoji, or a password over 64 characters.

### How close do I need to be to connect over Bluetooth?

Within about 3 m (10 ft) of the mower.

### What do I do if Navimow 4G stops working?

Check the service has not expired, restart everything, then switch to WiFi only for a few minutes and back to 4G.

### What does Mower Disconnected mean in the Navimow app?

The app lost contact with the mower. Check it is on with strong WiFi, try another network, or set Only 4G if you have Access+.
