## Short answer

Yes, you can buy the Roborock Saros Z70 today in the US. Its list price is $2,599, up from a planned $1,899 launch price after tariffs, and Amazon sold it for $1,299.99 on February 1, 2026. It is the first mainstream robot vacuum with a folding arm. The arm can pick up socks, small towels, tissues and light slippers up to 300 grams, but reviewers at TechRadar, The Verge and WIRED found it hit or miss. Buy it for its strong vacuuming and mopping, and treat the arm as a bonus. Techwalla says it is worth it at about $1,599 or less.

## What the Saros Z70 costs

Roborock planned to sell the Z70 for $1,899, according to a CNET report republished by AOL. US tariffs added $700, and the list price became $2,599. TechRadar's review lists $2,599 as the list price, and Techwalla repeated it in July 2026.

Real prices are often far lower. Slickdeals posted the Z70 at $1,299.99 on Amazon on February 1, 2026, half the list price. Techwalla argued in July 2026 that the Z70 is worth buying at about $1,599 or less, because the cleaning hardware alone justifies that, with the arm as a bonus. Above that, Techwalla points to the Saros 10R, which has no arm.

Prices change daily, so check a few retailers. If you see a price above $1,599, wait for a sale.

## Does the Saros Z70 really pick up socks?

Sometimes. Roborock told WIRED, as summarized by Techwalla, that the arm only grabs four kinds of things: socks, small towels, tissues and slippers under roughly 10 ounces. The pickup limit is 300 grams. It will not pick up items on carpet and will not deploy if the clearance overhead is under 45 cm.

Results vary by reviewer. Per Techwalla's roundup, The Verge reported about 80% success putting socks or paper into a bin, but it collected exactly one sandal during the whole test period. WIRED used it for two months at home, and after the first month the arm stopped trying and reported "Sorting failed" before docking.

TechRadar's Ruth Hamilton had no fully successful autonomous run. The Z70 picked up socks but set them down about 14 inches from where they started. It lifted a sandal but swung it into a doorstop. In a dim room, it labeled two sandals and a sock as "carry out bags" and ignored them. Steering the arm by hand in the app worked better.

## How the arm works

The OmniGrip arm folds into a hatch on top of the robot when not in use. It has a pincer and its own camera. The arm features are off by default. You turn them on in the app's robotic arm settings, then let it work on its own or drive it by remote control.

Homes and Gardens reports the robot can recognize 108 kinds of objects, and you can train it on 50 more. Recognition is not the same as pickup. Most recognized objects are things the robot avoids, not things the arm will lift.

## How well it cleans

The cleaning is the strong part. TechRadar found that on carpet in max mode, only a single oat flake and a few tea bits were left. On vinyl floors, the balanced mode cleared almost everything on the first pass. Mopping removed most of a ketchup stain in two passes, with a light film left over.

TechRadar scored it 4.5 out of 5 for design and app, and 3.5 for performance and value. Its review unit made a rattling noise while cleaning. WIRED found it often docked mid clean to recharge.

## What it costs over time

Like other high end robot vacuums with a self cleaning dock, the Z70 uses dust bags, filters, brushes and mop pads that you replace over time. Roborock's replacement part prices vary by retailer, so budget for a set each year. The arm adds moving parts, and no reviewer has reported its long term durability yet.

Roborock itself expects the arm idea to get much cheaper. Its president told CNBC, as reported by CNET, that a mass market robot vacuum with an arm should cost a few hundred dollars within about five years.

## Alternatives you can buy now

If you mostly want clean floors, you can skip the arm. The Roborock Saros 20 and Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete are both top tier vacuum and mop combos for less than the Z70's list price. Techwalla suggests the Saros 10R at $1,599.99 as the arm free option.

If you want a robot that tidies clutter, nothing on sale does that well yet. Humanoids like 1X NEO promise it, but they are still preorders. See our guide to robots that pick up clutter.
