# Robot that folds laundry: what is on sale, what is coming, what failed

A robot that folds laundry is finally on sale in the US, but only one: Weave's Isaac 0, at $7,999, shipping in California and using remote human help. Isaac 1 and SwitchBot's Onero H1 are due late 2026, while FoldiMate and Laundroid both failed before reaching buyers.

## Short answer

As of October 15, 2026, the only laundry folding robot shipping to US homes is Weave's Isaac 0 ($7,999, California only), which folds a load in 30 to 90 minutes with brief help from a remote human. Weave's Isaac 1 ($7,999 or $449 a month) adds pickup and putting away from fall 2026. Humanoids like the 1X NEO, Figure and Tesla Optimus have shown folding in demos, but none sells a folding service you can buy today.

## On sale now: Weave Isaac 0

Isaac 0 is a folding station, not a walking robot. It sits on a fixed base with two arms and two cameras. You leave a mixed pile of clean clothes on a table in a roughly 6 by 5 ft area, and New Atlas reports it folds them in 30 to 90 minutes. It handles t-shirts, shorts and long sleeve tops on its own but needs help with pants, underwear and pillowcases.

eWeek reported a $7,999 list price with a $250 refundable deposit, a two year warranty and an early adopter plan of about $450 a month. Weave's site says Isaac 0 is shipping across California.

The catch is remote help. Weave calls it "a blend of autonomy and teleoperation": when the robot gets stuck, a remote person watching the camera feed takes over the arms for a 5 to 10 second correction. New Atlas raised the privacy question directly, since a remote operator can see inside your home.

## Coming in fall 2026: Weave Isaac 1

Isaac 1 is Weave's mobile version. It has a wheeled base, two arms and a torso that adjusts from 3 ft to 5 ft 9 in. Weave says its Laundry Flow routine finds and picks up dirty clothes, handles loaded hampers, and folds and puts clothes away. A second routine, Daily Reset, makes beds and returns toys and shoes to their places.

Weave lists $7,999 up front or $449 a month, with a fully refundable $250 deposit. First shipments begin in fall 2026, with California first and broader US availability through 2027. Weave says Isaac 1 is autonomous by default, with teleoperation when needed. These are maker promises until reviewers test delivered units.

## Announced: SwitchBot Onero H1 and LG CLOiD

SwitchBot's Onero H1 is a wheeled robot with articulated arms. At CES 2026, Engadget watched it pick up clothes from a couch and load a washing machine, but not fold. It took nearly two minutes to move one garment a few feet. SwitchBot says the price will be under $10,000 and that sales should start toward the end of 2026.

LG's CLOiD was shown at CES 2026 doing chores like folding laundry. T3 reported no launch date or price.

## Humanoids that claim folding

Several humanoid makers have shown folding, but none sells it to homes today.

Figure posted a video in August 2025 of its humanoid folding towels and stacking them in a basket using its Helix AI. Figure said the same system works on factory lines and household chores. T3 reported no price or release date for homes.

The 1X NEO is on preorder for $20,000 or $499 a month. 1X says owners schedule chores in the app and can book a remote 1X operator for tasks NEO does not know yet. 1X had not announced customer deliveries as of October 15, 2026.

Tesla has published no price for Optimus and takes no preorders. Musk has said Tesla could sell humanoids to the public by the end of 2027.

## The ones that failed: FoldiMate and Laundroid

FoldiMate, a California company founded in 2010, showed prototypes at CES 2017 and CES 2018. Homecrux reported a $980 preorder price in 2018. You clipped each garment into the machine one at a time and got a folded stack back. The company aimed for market by the end of 2019, and in July 2021 it became clear it would cease operations.

Laundroid, from Japan's Seven Dreamers, was first shown in 2015 as a robot that could wash and fold clothes. Ubergizmo reported a $16,000 price and the maker's claim that it could fold a load in a couple of hours. Seven Dreamers filed for bankruptcy in April 2019 with about $22 million in debt, according to TechCrunch, and Laundroid never reached buyers.

Both show the same pattern: impressive trade show demos, slow folding, high prices and delays. Keep that in mind when you read launch dates for the new wave.

## How to judge a laundry folding robot

- Ask what it cannot fold. Isaac 0 needs help with pants, underwear and pillowcases.

- Ask how long a load takes. Isaac 0 takes 30 to 90 minutes, per New Atlas.

- Ask who helps when it gets stuck. Weave and 1X both use remote human operators.

- Ask what a remote operator can see. Fox News reports Weave's privacy policy lets its workforce access robot recorded visual content.

- Check the deposit terms. Weave refunds until the robot ships; 1X until 14 days after your order invitation.

- Add up the monthly plan. Isaac 1 is $449 a month and the 1X NEO is $499 a month, so a year costs $5,388 to $5,988 before any add-ons.

## Who should buy now and who should wait

Buy Isaac 0 only if you live in California, fold a lot of t-shirts and casual wear, and are comfortable with remote operators seeing your laundry area. Everyone else should wait for independent reviews of Isaac 1 and Onero H1 deliveries, which are due from late 2026.
