# Dyna Robotics' Taku runs an hour of laundry in an uncut demo

The wheeled semi-humanoid washed, dried, folded and shelved towels for an hour. Dyna calls it autonomous, but it is aimed at businesses, not homes.

## What it means for you

You cannot buy Taku, and Dyna has given no home plans or price. What it shows is progress on the hardest part of laundry robots: running a full wash, dry, fold and put away cycle without a person stepping in. If that holds up, home laundry robots like Weave's Isaac 1 have a clearer path.

Dyna Robotics introduced Taku and its Dyna-2.1 system on September 29, 2026, with a video of an hour-long laundry shift that the company describes as autonomous and uncut.

In the video, Taku moves towels through washing, drying, folding and shelving, and decides when to pause one job to tend a machine. Humanoids Daily reports that when a towel drops, the robot sends it back to the dirty pile instead of stopping. Dyna says this fixes a gap in its earlier napkin folding system, which needed a person to refill inputs and clear finished stacks.

Taku has a humanlike upper body with two seven-joint arms, a folding lower body that lets it reach into machines and low shelves, and four steerable wheels. Interesting Engineering reports the arms can take simple grippers or dexterous hands, and that Dyna's underlying model was trained on one million hours of human and robot data.

The confirmed number is the hour-long run. Dyna has not published a success rate, how often a person must step in, or how much setup each site needs. Humanoids Daily notes that one run does not prove the robot can repeat it across rooms and shifts, and that the task planner was trained on this specific workflow.

Dyna says it is deploying robots in hotels, laundromats and restaurants. There is no price or consumer version.

For home buyers, laundry is the chore most home robot startups promise. On our tracker, Weave's Isaac 1 is on a $7,999 preorder for laundry and tidying, and Sunday's Memo is entering a small beta. None has shown an hour of unassisted laundry in a real home.
