## Verdict

NEO is the closest thing to a home humanoid you can reserve today, with a published price, a real factory and full specs. But 1X has not announced a single customer delivery as of early October 2026, and reporters who saw it found that hard chores were done by a remote human. Reserve it only if you accept being an early tester who shares your home with 1X's operators.

### When will NEO actually arrive?

1X says US deliveries start in 2026, Early Access buyers first. As of October 5, 2026 BotInfo found no announced customer delivery, and 1X's CEO has said the factory reaches full rate only near the end of 2026.

### Will a person be controlling it in my home?

Sometimes. 1X says NEO is autonomous by default, but for chores it does not know you can schedule a 1X Expert, a US based employee, to guide it remotely. You approve each session and the ear rings change color while an Expert is connected.

### Is the $499 monthly plan cheaper?

Over three years it adds up to $17,964, close to the $20,000 purchase price, and it ships after Early Access orders. Buying includes a 3 year warranty.

### Is the deposit refundable?

1X lists a $200 deposit as fully refundable until NEO is ready for delivery.
