## Verdict

The Kobra X puts a 4 color changer inside the toolhead, so swaps are fast and there is no box beside the printer. Tom's Hardware gave it an Editor's Choice and found a four color print finished about 10 hours sooner than on a Bambu Lab A1. It is still an open bed slinger with real purge waste, so it suits PLA, PETG and TPU.

## Pros

- Low $299 price for 4 colors
- Fast color swaps, about 35 s
- No external filament box needed
- Expandable to 19 colors
- Quick 5 minute assembly

## Cons

- Open frame limits materials
- Still a lot of purge waste
- RFID only reads Anycubic filament
- Spool holders do not retract slack
- Camera angle poor for timelapse

## Questions buyers ask

### How many colors can the Kobra X print?

Four out of the box, and up to 19 with added ACE 2 Pro units, per Anycubic.

### Is it faster than the Bambu Lab A1 for multi color?

In Tom's Hardware testing, yes. Swaps took about 35 seconds versus 90 seconds or more, and a four color print finished about 10 hours sooner.

### Can it use non Anycubic filament?

Yes. The RFID reader only reads Anycubic spools, so you set other brands manually.
