## Verdict

The X2D is the dual nozzle successor to the X1 Carbon, with a heated chamber and better filtration. Tom's Hardware gave it an Editor's Choice and TechRadar found it reliable over 250 hours. The slower Bowden second nozzle is the main compromise.

## Pros

- Two nozzles cut purge waste on two color prints
- Active chamber heating to 65 C
- Hardened steel nozzles handle abrasive filament
- AMS 2 Pro included in the Combo
- Editor's Choice at Tom's Hardware

## Cons

- Auxiliary nozzle is Bowden fed and limited to 200 mm/s
- Soft TPU poorly supported
- Nozzle and filament assignment in Bambu Studio is confusing (TechRadar)
- AMS 2 Pro needs an optional cord to dry while printing
- Not sold on Amazon

- heated bed: Yes, up to 120 C, textured PEI plate (TechRadar)
- filament types: PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PC, PA and fiber filled filaments (Tom's Hardware); soft TPU is poorly supported by the AMS and the auxiliary nozzle (Tom's Hardware)

## Questions buyers ask

### Does the X2D need the AMS for two colors?

No. Its two nozzles can print two filaments without an AMS. The Combo adds the AMS 2 Pro for 4 or more colors.

### Can the X2D print TPU?

Stiff TPU works on the main nozzle. Tom's Hardware says the AMS only handles stiff TPU for AMS and the auxiliary nozzle is not recommended for TPU.

### Is the Bambu Lab X2D sold on Amazon?

No. Bambu Lab sells through its own store and retailers such as Best Buy.
