- Best for: pools with lots of floating leaves
- Skip if: you want app control or floor cleaning

## Verdict

The SE Plus is a simple solar skimmer that clears leaves and bugs from the surface before they sink, and it won Bob Vila's best overall pick after two months of testing. It adds plug-in charging to the SE for cloudy weeks, but has no app and only a 1 year warranty. Skip it if you need a robot that also cleans the floor and walls.

## Questions buyers ask

### Does the Betta SE Plus clean the pool floor?

No. It is a surface skimmer. You still need a floor cleaning robot or vacuum for debris that sinks.

### What is the difference between the SE and SE Plus?

The Pool Nerd says the SE Plus adds a backup plug-in charger so it keeps running on cloudy days. Betta lists 3.5 hours to charge on the AC adapter versus 5 to 6 hours in direct sun.

### Does it work with an app?

No. Betta includes a wireless remote, but there is no app, which Bob Vila lists as a con.
