## Verdict

mBot2 is a sturdy build it yourself robot that takes kids from Scratch style blocks to Python on the same hardware. Both families who tested it had kids build it alone, though setup and connection hiccups needed firmware updates. Skip it if you want a cuddly companion, since this is a coding kit first.
