## Verdict

Best for homes with mostly hard floors where mopping matters more than deep carpet cleaning. Both testers praised the mopping and obstacle handling. Skip it if you have thick carpet or a heavy shedding pet, because TechRadar found vacuuming its weak point.

## Pros

- Excellent mopping on tile
- Hot water pad washing and drying
- Automatic detergent dosing
- Good obstacle avoidance
- Large compressed dock bag

## Cons

- Vacuuming weaker than mopping (TechRadar)
- High water use
- Rattling side brush (Android Authority)
- App could be better

## Specs

- suction: 15,000 Pa (Narwal, TechRadar, Android Authority)
- navigation: LiDAR 4.0 with multi level maps and about 8 min quick mapping (Narwal); TechRadar saw mapping in about 6 min but confusion when furniture moved
- obstacle avoidance: Front and side sensors, objects as low as 1 cm (Narwal); TechRadar saw it avoid most cables and shoes but try to swallow a thin cable and socks
- mopping: Two triangular spinning pads, 8 N pressure, extending EdgeSwing, 12 mm lift on carpet (Narwal); no onboard water tank, refills at the dock (TechRadar)
- self empty: Yes, 2.5 L compressed dust bag, up to 120 days (Narwal lab claim); TechRadar's unit had a self emptying problem
- dock features: Hot water mop wash up to 167 F, warm air drying, auto detergent, station self cleaning; 4.5 L clean and 4 L dirty tanks (Narwal, TechRadar)
- runtime: Up to 210 min (TechRadar spec list); Narwal's page lists no runtime
- dustbin: Up to 1 L compressed robot bin (TechRadar) plus 2.5 L dock bag
- height: 107.7 mm, about 4.2 in (TechRadar)
- pet hair: TechRadar did not test pet hair directly but found the pads balled up missed hair and advised pet owners to look elsewhere; Android Authority saw very little hair buildup
- app: Narwal app with no go zones, child lock and schedules; Alexa, Siri and Google Home voice control (Narwal)
- noise: 55 dB in mop only mode (Narwal lab test); TechRadar found it quiet except on the top suction level
