## Verdict

The SV08 gives you a big 350 mm bed and Voron style speed for about half the price of enclosed rivals, with open Klipper firmware you can modify. It suits tinkerers who want to tune profiles and do not mind an hour of assembly. Skip it if you want a plug and play machine, multi color or a modern touchscreen, since the stock screen is a basic knob display.

## Cons

- About 1 hour of assembly

## Questions buyers ask

### Is the SV08 a real Voron?

It is based on the open source Voron 2.4 design and Sovol donates $2 per unit to the Voron Design Team, per Tom's Hardware. It ships 90% pre assembled instead of as a scratch build.

### Does it need a cloud account?

No. It runs Klipper and works over Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB without the cloud.

### Can it print ABS?

Sovol lists ABS, but the printer is open frame. An optional open enclosure is sold in bundles on the Sovol store.
