- Our score: not scored yet

- Status: on sale

## Verdict

The X5 Gen 2 is a lighter, cheaper AWD alternative to big network RTK mowers, with a separate edge disc that both testers liked. It relies on cellular RTK and cameras, so it can refuse to mow where the signal is weak and it misses small objects. Skip it if you want app height control or no subscription.

## Pros

- No RTK antenna to install
- Separate edge cutting disc
- All wheel drive with good grip on wet grass
- About 12.5 kg, light for an AWD mower
- Quiet at about 60 dB

## Cons

- Refused to mow in weak RTK spots in one test
- Misses small objects like balls
- Cut height set by hand on the mower
- $49 a year subscription after two years
- Edge setting can overshoot open boundaries

- cut height: 20 to 60 mm (about 0.8 to 2.4 in), set by a dial on the mower, not in the app (instalki, inside digital)

## Questions buyers ask

### Is there a subscription?

Yes. NetRTK and 4G are included for 24 months, then $49 a year, and Sunseeker says continued use requires an active subscription.

### Does it need an antenna?

No. It uses network RTK over its built in 4G, so there is no base station to install. A local base station is sold as an accessory.

### Can I change the cutting height in the app?

No. Both testers note the 20 to 60 mm height is set with a dial on the mower.
