## Verdict

Go2 is the most capable robot dog an individual can buy, a good fit for adult tech fans, makers and educators who want mapping, stair climbing and follow mode. Skip it if you want a cuddly pet, have small children around, or are uneasy about its documented security flaws and data reporting; Unitree rates it for ages 18 and up.

- security note: In September 2025 researchers disclosed UniPwn, a Bluetooth flaw with hardcoded keys that let attackers in range gain root access to Go2, B2, G1 and H1 robots and potentially spread robot to robot. A separate researcher reported undisclosed telemetry streaming to servers in China. Unitree said it had completed most fixes on September 29, 2025 (IEEE Spectrum). An earlier backdoor (CVE 2025 2894) affected the older Go1, not Go2.

## Questions buyers ask

### What is the difference between Go2 Air and Go2 Pro?

Pro adds voice commands with ChatGPT, a faster top speed (3.5 m/s versus 2.5 m/s) and 4G networking. Unitree lists Air from $1,600 and Pro at $2,800 before shipping.

### Is the Go2 safe around kids and pets?

Unitree says it is not a toy, is not for anyone under 18, and should not be used near children. It weighs about 15 kg and its joints can pinch.

### Has Unitree fixed the Go2 security problems?

Unitree said in September 2025 that it had completed most fixes for the UniPwn Bluetooth flaw, but independent confirmation of a full patch was not published. Keep firmware updated.
