## Verdict

Dash is a sturdy first coding robot that kids can use straight out of the box, with apps that grow from simple driving to block coding and JavaScript. It suits families and classrooms with kids roughly 5 to 11 who have open floor space. Skip it if you want a robot with a camera or AI chat, or if $190 plus accessories is too much for a toy that may be outgrown.

## Pros

- Pre assembled, ready to code out of the box
- Several apps that grow with the child
- Beat its rated battery life in Tom's Hardware testing
- No camera, and no user to user chat in its apps

## Cons

- About $190 before accessories
- Needs a large open floor area
- Struggles on rugs and thicker carpet
- Text heavy apps are hard for pre readers
