How the reviews are made

Each review is built from three kinds of evidence: the maker's published specs, reports from owners, and tests published by independent reviewers. Every test we cite is linked so you can read it yourself.

Riley Hart does not test robots hands on. When a page says a robot is good at something, that comes from the sources linked on the page, not from our own testing. When we do not know something, the page says so.

How scores work

Scores use one formula for every robot: 70% independent test results and 30% value for money. Affiliate links never change a score or a ranking. Read the method.
