Dreame robot vacuum error codes and alerts: what they mean and how to fix them

Dreame robot vacuums show faults as a blinking orange status light plus a written alert in the Dreamehome app, not a number. Dreame's manuals and help center cover each fault, from charging and docking to brushes, wheels, mops and Wi-Fi.

Short answer

As of October 27, 2026, Dreame does not publish a list of number codes for its robot vacuums. A blinking orange status light means an error, and the Dreamehome app names the fault. The most common ones are charging failures (check the station power switch and clean the charging contacts), the robot not finding its station (clear about 1 meter around the station, clean the reflective strips and the lidar), positioning failure (put it back on the station so it reloads the map), and a mop pad or brush that stops turning (remove the debris). If a fault stays after a restart, Dreame says to contact after sales service.

From the Dreame L10s Pro Gen 2 user manual and Dreame help center articles on charging, docking and positioning, checked October 27, 2026. Dreame does not publish a number code list for its robot vacuums; alert wording varies by model and app version. E, H and F codes on Dreame handheld wet dry vacuums are a different product line.

How Dreame shows errors

Dreame robot vacuums tell you about a fault in three ways. The status light on the robot blinks orange, the robot speaks a voice prompt, and the Dreamehome app shows a written alert with the part involved. Solid white means cleaning is running or done.

Dreame does not publish a number code list for its robot vacuums. If you search for a Dreame error number, you may find E1 to E7, H and F codes. Dreame's help center files those under its handheld wet dry floor cleaners, not its robots, so they do not apply here.

The fix comes from the alert text. Read it in the app, then use the table above. Dreame's first step for an unclear fault is to turn the robot off and back on.

Charging and docking faults

Charging trouble is the most common Dreame support topic. Dreame says to check both ends of the station cord and the power switch on the back of the station.

If the station has power, cut it, then clean the metal charging contacts on both the robot and the station. Line them up and power on again.

For a robot that cannot find home, Dreame gives a checklist.

  • Keep about 1 meter around the station open and flat.
  • Clear the route between the station and the rooms.
  • Wipe the reflective strips on the station so they are clean and uncovered.
  • Clean mud or dirt off the station base plate and the drive wheels.
  • Clean the lidar on top of the robot.
  • If the battery is flat, carry the robot to the station by hand.

Positioning failure and lost maps

A positioning failure means the robot cannot match what it sees to the saved map. If the station has not moved, put the robot back on it. Dreame says the map should reload by itself.

Big changes near the station, such as moved furniture, can cause it. So can wheel slip on wet tile. Dreame suggests the lowest water setting on slippery floors and virtual walls around spots where the robot gets trapped. If you keep more than one map, make sure the app switches to the right one for that floor.

Brush, wheel and mop faults

A strange noise or weak pickup almost always means debris. Stop the robot and check the main brush, side brush and both drive wheels. Then empty the bin and clean the filter.

For mopping, no water usually means an empty tank, a dirty or badly fitted mop pad, or a blocked air hole on the tank stopper. A mop pad that stops spinning has something caught in it. A mop holder that sits too high needs to come off so you can clear it.

When a repeat fault means a worn part, and when to call Dreame

If a fault clears and comes back after you clean everything, a part is likely worn. A brush noise that returns with a clean brush points to the main brush or side brush, which are wear parts. Weak suction with an empty bin and a clean filter points to the filter, which should be replaced from time to time. Charging that fails with clean contacts and a powered station can mean the station or the battery. Dreame says to contact after sales service when a charging fault stays.

Dreame also says to contact after sales when the mop holder keeps rising after you clear it, and when the robot still cannot dock after a remap. Have the model, serial number and proof of purchase ready, and check your warranty period first, since a covered fault should not cost you parts.

Questions people ask

Why is my Dreame robot vacuum light blinking orange?

A blinking orange status light means an error. Open the Dreamehome app to see which part has the problem, fix it, or turn the robot off and on.

Why is my Dreame robot not charging?

Dreame says to check both ends of the power cord, turn on the switch on the back of the station, and clean and line up the charging contacts on the robot and station.

What does positioning failure mean on a Dreame?

The robot cannot place itself on its map. Put it back on the station so it reloads the map, check the station has not moved, clear clutter and remap if it keeps happening.

Why can't my Dreame find its base station?

Clear about 1 meter around the station, check its power, clean the reflective strips, the drive wheels and the lidar, and make sure the path to it is open.

What do Dreame E1, H and F error codes mean?

Dreame lists those codes for its handheld wet dry vacuums such as the H12 series, not its robot vacuums. Dreame robots show errors as app alerts instead.
