Ecovacs Winbot W3 vs W2S: which window robot to buy
Winbot W3 vs W2S comes down to the station: the $699.99 W3 Omni washes its own pad between panes, the $499.99 W2S Pro Omni has a battery station but you rinse the pad yourself, and the $339.99 W2S Pro has no station at all.
Researched by Riley Hart · updated Oct 15, 2026 · How we research
Most buyers should get the W2S Pro Omni: it has the battery station, frameless edge detection and TruEdge scrubbers for $200 less than the W3 Omni, and it scores higher in our ranking (7.0 vs 6.3). Pay for the W3 Omni only if you clean a lot of large glass and want the station to wash the pad for you. The W2S Pro suits indoor glass and mirrors near an outlet, but no independent review of it was found yet.

What the W3 Omni adds
The W3 Omni's headline feature is its 10 kg Vortex Wash station. Ecovacs says 16 nozzles and four spinning scrub discs clean the wiping pad in about a minute, and a scraper pushes dirty water into a tank. TechRadar's Dutch review found the station returned a clean, damp pad in about 1 to 1.5 minutes. That matters because a dirty pad causes streaks: Gizmodo's tester got the best results by washing the pad about every two windows.
It also has the longest claimed battery runtime of the three, up to 130 minutes, and CyberShack reported a 5.5 m cord and a single run limit of 8 m wide by 2.5 m tall. Its spray tank is smaller, 80 ml against 120 ml on the W2S models, but Ecovacs says one fill covers about 50 m² in Fast mode.
What the W2S Pro Omni keeps and drops
The W2S Pro Omni keeps a battery powered station, so you do not need an outlet at every window. Ecovacs lists up to 110 minutes of runtime, a 5 kg counterweight, automatic cord take up and a 5.5 m safety rope rated to 1,000 N. It has TruEdge 2.0 edge scrubbers and an optical sensor that detects frameless edges.
What it drops is pad washing. You take the pad off and rinse it yourself. Gizmodo described it as a slightly downgraded W3 Omni when it launched at $600 in August 2026. It now sells for $499.99 on Ecovacs' US store.
The W2S Pro without a station
The W2S Pro is the same robot body as the Pro Omni, with the same 10,000 Pa suction claim, 120 ml tank and TruEdge 2.0 system, and the two share pads and the cleaning kit. It has no station. Ecovacs lists a Wired Mode for continuous power and says the robot stays attached for over 30 minutes if power drops, but it does not publish a battery runtime or a safety rope rating on the product page.
At $339.99 it is the cheapest way into this generation. Without published fall protection details or an independent review, we would use it on indoor glass, shower doors and mirrors rather than high outside panes.
What reviewers found
Reviews of the W3 Omni are mixed. CyberShack gave it 4.5/5 after several weeks, praising precise edge coverage but noting a faint outline where the pad stops and that heavily soiled glass needed more than one pass. Gizmodo cleaned a 4 by 3.5 ft window in just over 2 minutes in Fast mode but saw streaks, a tapered frame it could not detect and one run where it cleaned only one corner and stopped. It judged the robot hard to justify at $700. 9to5Google saw streak free results with Ecovacs' solution.
Basic Tutorials scored the W2S Pro Omni 92/100. It needed no intervention to navigate and left nearly streak free glass, though heavy dirt clogged the pad and four panes cleaned twice in deep mode took about 10 minutes. No independent review of the W2S Pro was found.
Running costs
Pads are the main ongoing cost. Ecovacs says to replace each pad after 30 cumulative cleaning cycles or when worn. W3 Omni pads cost $39.99 per two pack and W2S pads $29.99. Ecovacs' 1 liter cleaning solution costs $24.99 and works with all Winbot models. Ecovacs' US pages do not state a warranty length for any of the three.
Who should pick which
- Lots of large picture windows or glass walls, and you hate rinsing pads: W3 Omni.
- A handful of big windows on a mid range budget: W2S Pro Omni.
- Indoor glass, mirrors and shower doors near an outlet: W2S Pro.
- Only a few small windows: skip all three. Gizmodo found hand cleaning faster and cheaper, and our ranking has the $199 Mova N1 at the top.

Questions people ask
What is the difference between the Winbot W3 Omni and W2S Pro Omni?
The W3 Omni's station washes and re-wets the pad automatically and its battery lasts up to 130 minutes. The W2S Pro Omni has a battery station without pad washing and up to 110 minutes of runtime, for $200 less.
Is the Winbot W3 Omni worth it?
Only if you clean a lot of large glass. CyberShack rated it 4.5/5, but Gizmodo found streaks and missed areas and called it hard to justify at $700.
Does the W2S Pro work without a plug?
Ecovacs lists a Wired Mode for the W2S Pro and does not publish a battery runtime. It only says the robot stays attached for over 30 minutes if power drops. The Omni version adds a battery station.
Can the Winbot clean frameless glass?
Yes. All three detect frameless edges, according to Ecovacs. Gizmodo found the W3 Omni could not detect one tapered frame.
Do the W2S Pro and W2S Pro Omni use the same pads?
Yes. Ecovacs sells one $29.99 two pack that fits both. The W3 Omni uses its own $39.99 pads.
