eufy RoboVac error codes: what each one means and how to fix it
eufy RoboVac error codes are numbers spoken by the robot and shown in the eufy Clean app. On lidar models like the X9 Pro, codes 1 to 8 cover the bumper, wheels, brushes and getting stuck, 18 to 20 the laser sensor, and 27 to 34 the station and mops.
Researched by Riley Hart · updated Oct 27, 2026 · How we research
As of October 27, 2026, the eufy errors people see most are Error 1 (bumper stuck: tap it or refit it), Error 2 (wheel stuck: clear debris and spin it by hand), Error 3 and 4 (side brush or roller brush stuck: remove and clean), Error 5 and 6 (robot trapped: clear the area or move it to open floor and add a No-Go Zone), Error 7 (wheels off the ground) and Error 21 (could not dock: clear around the station). eufy says the same number can mean different things on different models, so check the article for your model on the eufy support site.
| Code | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Error 1 | Front bumper stuck | Tap the bumper to check it moves; remove and refit it if it stays stuck |
| Error 2 | Wheel stuck | Clear debris from the wheel gap and spin the wheel by hand |
| Error 3 | Side brush stuck | Remove anything caught in the side brush |
| Error 4 | Roller brush stuck | Take out the roller brush and clear it; raise suction if there is a lot of hair |
| Error 5 | Robot trapped by obstacles around it | Clear the area around the robot |
| Error 6 | Robot stuck on an obstacle, or hanging over a ledge | Move it to open floor; wipe the drop sensors; set a No-Go Zone if it keeps happening in one spot |
| Error 7 | Robot not touching the ground | Put it flat on the floor in a new spot |
| Error 8 | Battery too low, robot shutting down | Carry it to the station to charge |
| Error 12 (L35, LR30, LR20) | Right wall sensor covered in dust | Wipe the infrared sensor on the right of the bumper, update firmware, restart |
| Error 13 | Robot tilted | Put it on a flat surface before starting |
| Error 14 | Dust bin or filter missing | Refit the dust bin and filter; a badly seated filter can let dust reach the fan |
| Error 17 | Robot is in or too close to a No-Go Zone | Pause, move it away from the zone, then resume |
| Error 18 | Laser sensor cover may be stuck | Remove debris and press the cover until it clicks |
| Error 19 | Laser sensor cannot rotate | Check for and remove anything jamming it |
| Error 20 | Laser sensor blocked | Remove whatever is covering the top of the sensor |
| Error 21 | Found the station but could not dock | Clear obstacles around the station |
| Error 23 | Cannot find the starting point | Start cleaning from the station |
| Error 26 | Battery too low for a scheduled clean | Charge the robot and try again |
| Error 27 | Water level in the station cleaning tray is abnormal | Dry the tray and the metal detector with a dry cloth |
| Error 28 | Station cleaning tray not fitted | Refit the cleaning tray |
| Error 29 | Station lid not closed | Close the lid fully |
| Error 30 | Station input voltage abnormal | Check that the station matches your outlet voltage (110 V in the US) |
| Error 31 | Suction inlet may be blocked | Remove the brush, clear the brush cavity and inlet, empty the bin |
| Error 32 | Mop pad holder stuck | Remove the debris from the mop pad holder |
| Error 34 | Mop has fallen off | Refit the mop correctly |
Codes 1 to 8, 13, 14 and 18 to 34 are from eufy's X9 Pro voice alert list. Error 12 is from eufy's L35, LR30 and LR20 article, Error 6 also from its L70 and G series article, and Error 17 from its L70 Hybrid article, checked October 27, 2026. Codes differ by model, and older models such as the 11S series use beeps and lights instead of spoken numbers.
If the same code comes back after the fix, contact Eufy support first, especially under warranty. Out of warranty, compare the repair quote with a new robot's price and 3 year cost.

How eufy error codes work
Newer eufy robots speak the problem out loud and show an error number in the eufy Clean app. Older models, including the basic 11S line, signal faults with beeps and a red light instead of spoken numbers.
eufy writes its help articles per model or series. The same number does not always mean the same thing. Error 12 means a dusty right wall sensor on the L35, LR30 and LR20, while Error 6 on the L70 and G series is a robot hanging over a ledge. Always read the alert text in the app, and match it to the article for your model.
The table above follows the X9 Pro list, which is the fullest list eufy publishes for its lidar and station models. Other current models may skip or reuse some numbers, so treat it as a guide and check the app text.
Stuck parts: errors 1 to 4
These four codes are the ones to learn first. They all mean a moving part cannot move.
- Error 1: tap the front bumper a few times. If it will not spring back, remove it and fit it again.
- Error 2: turn the robot over, clear hair and grit from around the wheel, and spin it by hand.
- Error 3: pull tangled hair or string off the side brush.
- Error 4: take out the roller brush, cut away wrapped hair and clean the brush ends. eufy suggests a higher suction setting in homes with a lot of hair.
Trapped, lifted and lost: errors 5 to 8, 13, 17, 21 and 23
Errors 5 and 6 mean the robot is trapped. Clear the area or carry it to open floor. If it gets stuck in the same spot each time, draw a No-Go Zone there in the app. On the L70 and G series, Error 6 can also come from dusty drop sensors, so wipe the sensors under the front bumper with a dry cloth.
Error 7 means the wheels lost contact with the floor, and Error 13 means the robot is tilted. Set it flat and start again. Error 17 means it ran into a No-Go Zone; move it out and resume.
Error 21 means it found the station but could not get on, so clear the space around the station. Error 23 means it was not started from the station and cannot find its start point. Errors 8 and 26 are low battery; carry it to the station and let it charge.
Laser sensor and station codes
Errors 18, 19 and 20 all point at the laser sensor on top of the robot. Check that nothing is pressing on the cover, that it clicks when pressed, and that nothing blocks or jams the spinning sensor.
Codes 27 to 34 come from the station and mops. Dry the cleaning tray for Error 27, refit the tray for 28, close the lid for 29, and check the mop holder and mops for 32 and 34. Error 30 means the station voltage does not match your outlet; eufy says to confirm whether your unit is a 110 V or 220 V model.
eufy also lists a general reset for repeat errors: power the robot off and on, or on the X9 Pro hold the recharge and child lock buttons together for 3 seconds to reset the network. If that fails, press the Reset button for 3 to 5 seconds and restart.
When a repeat error means a worn part, and when to call eufy
If an error comes back after a full clean, look at the part it names. Error 3 or 4 that returns on a clean brush suggests a worn or bent side brush or roller brush. Error 2 that returns when the wheel spins freely by hand points to the wheel module. Errors 18 to 20 that stay after you clear the sensor point to the laser sensor itself.
For trapped and sensor errors, eufy also tells owners to update the firmware in the app before anything else. Contact eufy support when the error stays after cleaning, a firmware update and a reset. eufy asks for a video or photos of the error or the spot where the robot gets stuck. Check your warranty period and have the serial number and proof of purchase ready, since a covered fault should not cost you parts.
