Creality K1 and K2 error codes: what the key numbers mean

Creality K1 series printers show errors as a key number, such as Key 2564, while the K2 series and newer Creality OS firmware add a two letter prefix, such as TE2564. This page covers the most common codes on the K1C and K2 Plus Combo, with the meaning and fix from the Creality wiki.

Short answer

As of October 27, 2026, the Creality codes that come up most are heating, leveling and filament feed errors. Key 2564 (TE2564 on Creality OS) means the nozzle is not heating as expected, and Key 2565 (CB2565) means the bed is not heating. Keys 2521 to 2529 point to the strain gauge leveling sensor. On the K2 Plus Combo, FR codes are CFS feed and retract problems, usually a tangled spool or a jam in the PTFE path. Creality says to restart and check the wiring first, and to export the log and contact support if the code is not in its table or keeps coming back.

From the Creality wiki K1 Series Error Code Summary and the Creality OS Error Code list, checked October 27, 2026. K1 series screens show Key plus a number. Creality OS adds a two letter prefix. In the list, F codes cover filament and the CFS, T codes the toolhead, C codes motion, heating and calibration, A codes the AI camera and lidar, B codes boards and storage, and X codes the system. The Creality OS list has over 100 codes.

How Creality error codes work

On the K1, K1C and K1 Max, an error pops up as Key followed by a number, for example Key 2564. The Creality wiki groups these in its K1 Series Error Code Summary. Numbers in the 100s and 500s are mostly AI camera, lidar, fan and storage messages. Numbers in the 2000s are firmware and hardware faults such as heating, homing, leveling and board communication.

Newer Creality OS firmware, used on the K2 series, adds two letters in front of the number. The letters group codes by area: codes starting F are filament and CFS faults, T codes are toolhead faults, C codes are motion, heating and calibration faults. Creality does not spell out each letter. The number often matches the older key, so TE2564 and Key 2564 are the same nozzle heating fault.

Creality says that if your code is not in its table, you should export the log from the printer and send it to after sales support for analysis.

Heating and temperature codes

Key 2564 means the hotend heater is on but the temperature does not rise. Creality says to check the ceramic heating block and its wiring and reseat the terminals. Key 2565 is the same problem for the bed; reseat the bed wiring and check whether the bed power solder joints have come loose.

Key 2509 and 2510 mean the printer cannot read the nozzle or bed thermistor. Key 2111 means the nozzle is below 170°C, the minimum extrusion temperature on Creality OS. That one is often a slicer profile problem, so use Creality Print or an official profile for your exact printer.

Leveling and motion codes

The K1 series uses strain gauges under the bed to sense the nozzle touching down. Keys 2520 to 2529 cover that system. Some point to a damaged sensor or chip, others to data lost during the measurement, and 2524 and 2529 can also be caused by vibration or the environment. Put the printer on a solid table, restart, and run leveling again.

Key 2526 means the Z motor lost steps during leveling, which Creality links to a Z axis or lead screw that does not move smoothly. Cleaning and checking the lead screws is the first step. On the K2 Plus, error 2060 shows as System error, try to restart. Creality says to look for anything fallen on the Y rail, a clogged waste chute, or a bent or low nozzle wiper that catches the hotend.

CFS filament codes on the K2 series

The CFS is the multi color feeder on the K2 Plus Combo. Its codes start with F. Most are feed or retract problems where filament is caught somewhere between the spool, the CFS hub and the extruder. Check that the spool turns freely, that the filament has not crossed over itself, and that each PTFE tube is fully pushed into its fitting. Then press Retry.

FS2843 only means the RFID tag on the spool could not be read. Set the filament type by hand and carry on. FR2839 and TR0116 just mean the filament ran out.

When a repeat error means a worn part

If heating codes keep returning after you reseat the cables, the hotend heater, thermistor or hotend cable is likely failing. Creality notes that Key 2001 and 2506 often come from a poor hotend cable and that the fix can be a new cable or hotend board. Key 501 and 502 that come back with a clean, free spinning fan mean the fan itself is worn.

Jam codes that repeat on every print, even with dry filament, often point to a worn or partly blocked nozzle, or a cutter that no longer cuts cleanly. Creality publishes replacement guides for the K2 Plus nozzle, hotend, cutter, strain gauge and PTFE tubes. Leveling sensor codes that come back on a steady table point to a damaged strain gauge.

When to contact Creality support or use the warranty

Contact Creality if a hardware code keeps coming back after a restart and a wiring check, or if the code is not on either list. Creality asks for the exported log, so export it from the printer settings first. Several entries on the K1 list say to email [email protected] if the fault happens often.

Have your serial number, firmware version, the full code and a short video ready. If the printer is new, ask about a warranty part before you buy one yourself, and do not open the mainboard area unless support asks you to.

Questions people ask

What does Key 2564 mean on a Creality K1?

It means the nozzle is not heating as expected: the heater is on but the temperature does not rise. Creality says to check the ceramic heating block and wiring and reseat the terminals, and to contact support if they are damaged.

What does Key 2565 mean?

The heated bed is not heating as expected. Reseat the bed wiring and check whether the bed power solder joints have come loose. If they have, contact Creality.

What is error 2060 on the Creality K2 Plus?

The screen shows System error, try to restart. Creality links it to the toolhead being blocked: something on the Y rail, a clogged waste chute, or a bent or low nozzle wiper. Clear the cause, then home the axes again.

What do the letters in Creality OS codes like TE2509 mean?

Creality does not define each letter, but its list groups codes by area. F codes are filament and CFS, T codes the toolhead, C codes motion, heating and calibration, A codes the AI camera and lidar, B codes boards and storage, and X codes the system.

My Creality error code is not on the list. What now?

Creality says to export the log from the printer and send it to after sales support for analysis.
