Ecovacs Winbot error codes, voice alerts and how to fix them
Ecovacs Winbot window robots do not use number codes. They speak an alert and show it in the Ecovacs Home app. This page lists every alert Ecovacs explains for the W3 Omni, W2S Pro Omni, W2S Omni and Winbot mini 2, with the official fix for each.

Winbot has no numbered error codes. It speaks an alert, such as Not enough air pressure, Avoid window edges or WINBOT slips, and shows it in the Ecovacs Home app. For almost every alert, Ecovacs says to steer the robot within reach in the app, hold the handle, hold Start for 2 seconds until the fan stops, take it off the glass, fix the cause (pad seating, dirty drive tracks, debris in the brushes, or starting too close to the frame) and reattach it at least 10 cm from the edges.
| Voice alert | Models | What it means | Fix from Ecovacs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Not enough air pressure / Insufficient air pressure / Low suction | W3 Omni, W2S Pro Omni, W2S Omni, mini 2 | Suction is too weak, usually from gaps or low obstacles on the glass or a wiping pad that is not seated right | Steer it within reach in the app, hold Start 2 seconds, remove it, line up the pad with its wide and narrow edges, then restart. On the W3 Omni also press the red sealing foam into place and replace a worn pad |
| Avoid window edges and reattach WINBOT | W3 Omni, W2S Pro Omni, W2S Omni | It was placed too close to the frame and cannot sense the boundary | Hold Start 2 seconds and remove it, press the four ball sensors to check they spring back, reattach at least 10 cm from the edges |
| Please avoid the window corners | mini 2 | Placed too close to the frame | Hold Start about 2 seconds to release it, reattach at least 10 cm from the edges |
| WINBOT is trapped | W3 Omni, W2S Omni, W2S Pro Omni | Something on the drive tracks, or the window layout is trapping it | Steer it within reach, remove it, clear the drive tracks with a tool; on the W2S Pro Omni also remove bumper protective strips, check all side brushes are fitted and start 10 cm away from handles or hinges |
| Wipe drive wheel tracks | W2S Pro Omni | Debris in the drive tracks | Steer it within reach, hold Start 2 seconds, remove it, clear the tracks with a tool and restart |
| Drive wheel stuck | mini 2 | Debris jammed in the drive tracks | Steer it within reach, hold Start 2 seconds, remove it, clear the tracks and restart |
| WINBOT slips | W3 Omni, W2S Pro Omni, W2S Omni | Dirty or oily drive tracks, a soaked pad, or damp glass | Wipe the drive tracks, swap or wring out a wet pad, dry a patch of glass before attaching; on the W3 Omni also remove the bumper protector strip |
| Side brush stuck / Ensure there are no foreign objects in the brushes | W2S Omni, W2S Pro Omni | Debris is blocking the side brushes | Remove the debris with a tool, reattach and restart; contact Ecovacs if it returns |
| Scrubber is stuck | W3 Omni | Debris is blocking the scrubbers | Clear the scrubbers with a tool, reattach and restart; contact Ecovacs if it returns |
| Obstruction Detected / Abnormal Status | W2S Pro Omni | A rare hardware fault, or the glass is tilted more than 45 degrees from vertical | Check the tilt; if stuck on the glass, pull it down by the cord and hold Start 2 seconds; otherwise power off, unplug and restart; contact after sales if it stays |
| Low water level | mini 2, W2S Omni, W2S Pro Omni | The cleaning solution tank is low | Remove it, refill with Ecovacs Winbot solution or tap water, close the plug, power off and on. On the W2S Pro Omni a false alert clears after a restart and a few minutes of work |
| Power Disconnected | W2S Omni | The power cord was unplugged while it was working | Plug the power cord back in |
| Please connect power (while plugged in) / Stuck in the cold | mini 2 | Low temperature battery protection | Use it only between 0°C and 40°C, and never with water or damp pads below 0°C |
| Low battery, please charge before use (new robot) | mini 2 | The safety battery that holds suction in a power cut is not charged yet | Charge it fully, about 3 hours, before first use |
| Clean water tank is almost empty | W3 Omni station | Clean water is low | Refill the tank, check the float moves freely, latch the lid and refit it |
| Let's install the clean water tank | W3 Omni station | The station cannot detect the tank | Check and wipe the magnet on the tank bottom and test it with a coin; contact Ecovacs if it is missing or weak |
| Dirty water tank is full or not installed | W3 Omni station | Dirty tank is full or not seated | Empty and rinse it, check the float, lock the lid clip and refit it |
| Cleaning compartment wastewater overflow | W3 Omni station | Water is leaking or backing up in the pad wash compartment | Clean the tank seal ring and sealing plug, press the tank fully home, open the compartment and clear the drain outlet |
| Wiping Pad Cleaning Abnormal | W3 Omni station | The pad wash is not working properly | Open the compartment, clean the four brush plates and their bearings, clear blockages, refit the pad securely |
| Steady blue light / light off | mini 2 | Steady blue means charging; the light turns off when it sleeps after about 20 minutes | No action needed |
Alerts and fixes from Ecovacs Help Center articles for the WINBOT W3 OMNI (US), W2S PRO OMNI (Canada), W2S OMNI (Canada) and WINBOT mini 2 (US), checked October 21, 2026. Ecovacs has no separate W2S Pro (without station) help page we could find; it is part of the same W2S family, so the W2S articles are the closest match. Ecovacs does not publish numbered Winbot error codes.
If the same code comes back after the fix, contact Ecovacs support first, especially under warranty. Out of warranty, compare the repair quote with a new robot's price and 3 year cost.

How Winbot alerts work
Winbot robots tell you what is wrong out loud and in the Ecovacs Home app. There is no number to look up. Ecovacs writes one help article per alert for each model, and the wording changes a little between models. The W2S Pro Omni says Insufficient air pressure, the W3 Omni says WINBOT has low suction, and older W2 articles say Not enough air pressure, but the cause and fix are the same.
Most alerts fall into four groups: weak suction, a bad start position near the frame, dirty drive tracks or brushes, and, on the W3 Omni, the station's water tanks and pad wash.
The safe way to take Winbot off the glass
Ecovacs uses the same steps in almost every article. Keep people, pets and anything fragile out from under the robot while you do this.
- Use remote control in the Ecovacs Home app to drive Winbot to a spot you can reach.
- Hold the handle firmly.
- Press and hold the Start (power) button for about 2 seconds until the fan stops.
- Lift Winbot off the glass, fix the cause, then reattach it at least 10 cm from the frame and hold Start 2 seconds to restart the fan.
- If the app cannot move it, Ecovacs says to pull the power cord steadily and slide the robot across the glass until you can reach it.
Fixing suction, slipping and trapping alerts
For air pressure alerts, check the window first. Ecovacs says gaps or low obstacles on the glass cause pressure loss, and that you should drive the robot by hand in the app on those windows. If the glass is fine, reseat the wiping pad so its wide and narrow edges line up. On the W3 Omni, Ecovacs also says to press the red sealing foam into place and replace a pad after about 30 cleans.
For slipping, wipe the drive tracks with a clean cloth (the W3 Omni has a Clean Driving Treads option in the app settings), wring out or swap a soaked pad, and dry a patch of glass before you attach the robot. Ecovacs advises against using Winbot in rain, fog or high humidity.
For trapping, clear debris from the drive tracks. On the W2S Pro Omni, Ecovacs also lists bumper protective strips left on from the box, missing side brushes, narrow frames (attach the robot in the same direction as the narrow window) and handles or hinges (start at least 10 cm away).
Using the reset button
If Winbot stops responding, Ecovacs says to use the reset hole on the underside. With the robot in standby, turn it over, press and hold the reset button with a toothpick until the indicator light on the bottom goes off, then power it off and on again.
When to contact Ecovacs
Contact Ecovacs after sales if a brush or scrubber alert returns after you clear it, if Obstruction Detected or Abnormal Status stays after a restart, or if the W3 Omni clean water tank magnet is missing or has lost its pull. Have the model and the exact words of the alert ready.

Questions people ask
Why does my Winbot say not enough air pressure?
Ecovacs says the usual causes are gaps or low obstacles on the glass, or a wiping pad that is not seated correctly. Take the robot off, reseat the pad with its wide and narrow edges lined up, and on windows with gaps drive it by hand in the app.
What does avoid window edges mean on a Winbot?
The robot was attached too close to the frame and cannot sense the edge. Take it off, press the four ball sensors to check they spring back, and reattach it at least 10 cm from the frame.
Why does my Winbot keep slipping?
Dirty or oily drive tracks, a soaked wiping pad or damp glass. Wipe the tracks, wring out or swap the pad, dry the glass, and avoid cleaning in rain or high humidity.
How do I reset an Ecovacs Winbot?
With the robot in standby, turn it over and press and hold the reset button with a toothpick until the bottom indicator light goes off. Then power it off and back on.
Does Winbot have numbered error codes?
No. Ecovacs Winbot models announce alerts by voice and in the Ecovacs Home app, and Ecovacs explains each alert in its Help Center by name.
