eufy RoboVac won't charge: causes and fixes
A eufy RoboVac that won't charge usually has a base with no power, dirty or rusty charging pins, a robot not sitting on the pins, or a base placed where the robot cannot dock. Here are the causes and fixes from eufy's support center, matched to what you see and hear.

Check that the white light on the charging base or station is on. If not, reconnect the AC adapter and try another outlet. Then wipe the charging pins on the base and under the robot with a dry cloth, set the robot on by hand and press down over the pins so they touch. If it still beeps nothing, eufy says the base likely needs replacing.
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Base light off | Base or station has no power | Reconnect the AC adapter at both ends and try another wall outlet. If it stays dark, ask eufy to replace the base. |
| No beep when placed on the base | Dirty, rusty or bent charging pins | Wipe the pins on the base and under the robot with a dry cloth and check they are not deformed or rusty. |
| Robot sits on the base but stays dead | Pins not touching | Place it by hand, press down over the pins, and line up the robot pins with the base pins. |
| Will not power on or charge (X8 Pro) | Robot needs a forced restart | Press Reset with a pin, hold Power for 3 seconds, then press Return Charge. |
| "Charging connection failed" | Dirty charging pins and charging point | Turn off the robot, unplug the station, wipe both sets of contacts, restore power and redock. |
| "Error: Battery error" | Battery fault | Press Feedback in the app to contact eufy customer service. |
| "Low battery, robot is shutting down" | Battery too low to get home | Carry the robot to the station to charge. |
| "Return failed, clear the area around the station" | Obstacles around the station | Remove anything around the station so the robot can enter. |
| "Return failed" with reflective objects nearby | Mirrors or shiny surfaces confuse the signal | Move reflective objects away from the station. |
| Will not dock after you replaced a part | Infrared sensor pins bent during reassembly | Check the two infrared connector pins behind the bumper are straight, then guide it back from 6 ft away. |
| Will not dock on a rug | Base on carpet or in a cramped spot | Put the base on a hard, flat floor against a wall with the clearance shown in your manual. |

If the same code comes back after the fix, contact Eufy support first, especially under warranty. Out of warranty, compare the repair quote with a new robot's price and 3 year cost.

1. Check that the base has power
eufy's first step is the indicator on the charging base or self empty station. If it does not light up, reconnect the AC adapter to the base, plug the other end into a different wall outlet, or try another power adapter. If the base still stays dark, eufy says to contact support to replace the charging base or station.
If the base lights but the robot shows nothing when docked and you hear no beep or voice alert, the problem is the connection between them.
2. Clean the charging pins and seat the robot
eufy's steps when the base has power but the robot will not charge:
- Dust off the charging pins on the base and on the bottom of the RoboVac with a dry cloth.
- Check the pins are not deformed or rusty.
- If the robot still has power, let it dock by itself.
- If it is dead, place it on the base by hand and press down over the pins so they make contact.
- Still nothing? Turn the robot over and line up its pins with the pins on the base.
- On X10 Pro Omni and similar stations, turn off the robot and unplug the station before wiping the contacts, then restore power and redock.
3. Reset a robot that will not wake
On the X8 Pro series, eufy says to press the Reset button next to the WiFi light under the cover with a pointed object, then hold Power for 3 seconds. If it powers on, press Return Charge so it starts charging. This forced restart does not restore factory settings, delete maps or reset WiFi.
If your robot finds the base but cannot get onto it, check the front omnidirectional wheel turns freely. eufy says a stuck front wheel stops the robot from climbing onto the charging base.
4. Fix where the base sits
Docking failures look like charging failures. eufy asks for the base on a hard, flat surface, not a rug or carpet, against a wall, in an easy to reach spot, with obstacles cleared from the area shown in your manual. Keep reflective objects away from the station, and make sure the station is plugged in, because the robot cannot find a station with no power.
If the problem started after you replaced a part such as a brush motor or bumper on a Bounce or G series robot, eufy says the two infrared sensor connector pins behind the bumper may be bent. Straighten them gently to 90 degrees to the main board, reassemble, then set the robot about 6 feet from the base with a clear line of sight and send it home.
5. Battery, base or new robot?
A voice alert for a battery error means the battery itself is faulty, and eufy asks you to press Feedback in the app to reach customer service. eufy publishes battery replacement videos for models such as the 11S and X10 Pro Omni, so the battery is a replaceable part. A base that never lights on any outlet is the other common failure, and eufy replaces those through support.
Contact eufy before buying parts, since its warranty service may cover them. Out of warranty, a battery or base costs much less than a new robot. Replacing the whole RoboVac makes more sense when the robot needs both and is an older model.
Questions people ask
Why is my eufy RoboVac not charging on the base?
Usually the base has no power or the charging pins are dirty. Check the base light, try another outlet, wipe the pins on the base and robot, and press the robot down onto the pins.
What does 'Charging connection failed' mean on a eufy robot?
The robot and station are not making good contact. Turn off the robot, unplug the station, wipe the charging contacts on both, then redock.
How do I reset a eufy robot that will not turn on?
On the X8 Pro series, press the Reset button with a pin, then hold Power for 3 seconds. This does not erase maps or WiFi.
Why won't my eufy robot go back to its base?
Check the station has power, clear obstacles and reflective objects around it, put it on hard floor against a wall, and check the front wheel turns freely.
Can I replace a eufy RoboVac battery?
Yes on many models. eufy publishes battery replacement videos, and a battery error alert means you should contact eufy support first.
