This list is for owners who would rather not run a power cord into the pool. A robot qualifies if it runs on a battery rather than a cable. Before buying, check runtime and charge time, how heavy it is to lift out, and whether it sinks if the battery dies, since reviewers found some models do. How we score.
Low cost cordless robot with AI camera dirt hunting mode
Why it ranks here
Ranks first because it is the cheapest robot here and EFTM scored it 86%, finding a test dirt pile within 20 minutes. It edges the AquaSense 2 on value, not on test results. The Pool Nerd disapproved of the standard C2, and WYBOT had a 2026 battery recall on older models.
CLEANS Floor, wall, waterlinePOWER CordlessRUNTIME Up to 180 minMAX POOL 2,152 sq ftSCORE 8.6
Cordless floor, wall and waterline cleaner at a reduced price
Why it ranks here
Bob Vila rated it 4.5/5 after three months in a Florida pool, a better test result than the WYBOT above, but it costs about $170 more. It beats the Aiper Scuba V3, which has the same test average, by costing about $100 less. It does not clean stairs and filters only to 150 µm.
CLEANS Floor, wall, waterlinePOWER Cordless, 10,000 mAhRUNTIME Up to 4 hMAX POOL 3,230 sq ftSCORE 8.6
Cordless robot with AI camera that seeks out debris
Why it ranks here
Matches the AquaSense 2 with 4.5/5 from Bob Vila, who found its algae and fine debris pickup excellent, but costs about $100 more. It edges the Sora 70, which scored only slightly higher and costs about $200 more. It does not skim, is rated for pools up to 1,614 sq ft, and Aiper has two prior fire recalls.
CLEANS Floor, wall, waterlinePOWER CordlessRUNTIME Up to 210 min (ECO)MAX POOL 1,614 sq ftSCORE 8.2
Midrange cordless robot with surface mode and shallow ledge cleaning
Why it ranks here
Techaeris scored it 9.1/10, the best single test score among the cordless robots here, and it adds surface skimming and ledge cleaning. It costs about $200 more than the Aiper, which keeps it fourth but well above the Dolphin Premier, a robot costing more than twice as much. Reviewers found it slow on big pools.

Budget cordless robot for floor, walls and waterline
Why it ranks here
A budget cordless Beatbot that cleans the floor, walls and waterline. PCWorld saw it collect over 95% of test debris but miss everything on the steps, and The Smart Home Hookup found its 150 micron basket will not trap fine silt. It is not ranked yet because none of these reviews gave a numeric score.

Dolphin's cordless robot with fine backwash filter and ledge cleaning
Why it ranks here
Dolphin's cordless robot reaches sun ledges as shallow as 8 in, and PCWorld found its DebrisLock filter trapped all types of debris. The same review called emptying the filter a huge pain and saw it miss corners. It is not ranked yet because neither PCWorld nor The Pool Nerd gave a numeric score.

Light cordless robot with underwater remote for in-ground pools
Why it ranks here
PCWorld's best cordless pick, averaging about 95% coverage over several weeks, with an underwater remote and Easy Lift retrieval. It is in-ground only, has no scheduling and takes up to 5 hours to charge. It is not ranked yet because no published review gave a numeric score.

Cordless flagship that cleans floor, walls, waterline and surface
Why it ranks here
Cleans the floor, walls, waterline and water surface, and Android Authority gave it Editor's Choice for strong pickup. It weighs about 29 lb, and Reviewed saw it miss a shallow tanning ledge. It is not ranked yet because none of its published reviews gave a numeric score.

Cordless or corded: what you give up
A cordless robot drops in with no cable to untangle, which is the main reason to buy one. The trade is a charging routine: every run ends with lifting the robot out and charging it for 3 to 5 hours.
Corded robots such as the Dolphin Sigma and Premier run 2 to 3 hour cycles on a weekly timer with no charging, and stay in the pool. If you want the robot to run by itself every few days and never think about it, a corded model fits better. See the corded list.
Who should skip cordless
Skip cordless if your pool is longer than the robot's rated coverage, if lifting a wet robot out several times a week is a problem, or if you want true set and forget weekly runs.
Questions people ask
How long do cordless pool robots run per charge?
Among the models we track, makers claim from about 2.5 hours (Polaris Freedom Plus) to 5 hours on the pool floor (Beatbot Sora 10 and Sora 70). Surface skimming modes on Beatbot's top models run longer. Charging takes about 3 to 5 hours.
What is the cheapest cordless robotic pool cleaner worth buying?
The cheapest we track is the WYBOT C2 Vision at $630 when we last checked, followed by the Beatbot Sora 10 at $699. Both clean the floor, walls and waterline.
Can a cordless pool robot clean the waterline?
Yes. Every cordless model on this list lists the waterline among the surfaces it cleans. The Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra and Sora 70 also skim the water surface.
Are cordless robotic pool cleaners better than corded ones?
Not better, different. Cordless models skip the cable but need charging after every run. Corded models run longer weekly schedules with no charging. Pick cordless for convenience, corded for hands off routines.
