Best robot gift for holiday 2026: picks by age and budget

The best robot gift for holiday 2026 depends on who gets it. Eilik ($139.99) is the best gift under $150. Ropet ($279.99) and Emo ($279) are the best under $300. Casio Moflin ($429) is the best gift for an adult or older parent, KEYi Loona ($429) for kids, and Petoi Bittle X ($319 kit) for kids 10 and up who want to code.

Short answer

Under $150, give Eilik ($139.99), a desk robot with no app or subscription. Under $300, give Ropet KAMOMO Pro ($279.99) to someone who wants a furry pet, or Emo ($279) to a teen or adult who wants a desk buddy that talks. For an older parent, Casio Moflin ($429) is soft, quiet and needs no WiFi plan. For kids 5 to 10, Loona ($429) is the most fun, and Miko 3 ($299) is a learning robot if you can find stock. For kids 10 and up, Petoi Bittle X ($319) teaches coding. Order by early December, since some makers take up to 2 weeks to ship.

Quick picks by budget

  • Under $150: Eilik ($139.99). Cheap, cute and works offline.
  • Under $200: Enabot EBO Air 2 ($179) for someone who wants to check on a cat or dog from work.
  • Under $300: Ropet KAMOMO Pro ($279.99) or Emo ($279).
  • Under $500: Casio Moflin ($429), KEYi Loona ($429) or Petoi Bittle X ($319 to $469).
  • Big budget: Sony aibo ($3,199.99) or a Unitree Go2 for a teen or adult robotics fan (from $1,600 direct).

Best robot gift for kids 5 to 10

KEYi Loona is the most playful pick. It drives around the floor, follows kids, plays games and talks. KEYi's store listed the Petbot Premium at $429, down from $529. RoboZaps calls families with kids its best fit, but notes its AI runs on KEYi's cloud and battery life is a common complaint. KEYi lists 2 to 4 hours per charge.

Miko 3 is a learning robot with a screen face for ages 5 to 10. Miko lists it at $299, but both colors showed as sold out on Miko's store when we checked, so look at other retailers. Much of the good content needs Miko Max at $99 a year or $14.99 a month. The Gadgeteer found it hard to recommend for most families, saying it acts much like a small tablet and its chat is slow.

For a younger child who mostly wants something to hug, Casio Moflin is hard to break. TechCrunch said it could suit young kids, though Casio asks for care around small children.

Best robot gift for kids 10 and up and teens

Petoi Bittle X is a robot dog kids build and code. Petoi lists the kit at $319 and versions with a robotic arm at up to $469. Kids start with blocks and move on to Python or C++. It walks about an hour per charge. Petoi rates it for ages 10 and up, and the page has shown it as sold out at times, so order early.

Emo ($279) suits a teen who wants a desk buddy that walks, dances and answers questions. Anton Robots says the $369 Emo Go Home is worth it because Emo can dock itself. Eilik ($139.99) is the lower cost pick. It reacts to touch and plays games but does not chat unless you add the $99 AI Station.

Best robot gift for adults

Ropet KAMOMO Pro is a warm, furry pet with screen eyes and a nose camera. Ropet's store listed it at $279.99, down from $349, and extra furs cost $35 to $55, which makes for easy follow up gifts. Robots Around The House called it a great budget robot for people who want a pet to touch. Its battery lasts about 2.5 to 3.5 hours.

For a coworker or desk fan, Eilik and Emo both fit on a desk. A Vector 2.0 ($249.99) appeals to people who loved the original Anki robot, but it needs $99.99 a year to answer voice commands and its maker has a troubled record, so we rank it last here.

Best robot gift for seniors

Casio Moflin ($429) is our pick for an older parent. It is soft, weighs about 9.2 ounces and reacts to touch and voice without a screen. It needs no subscription, runs up to 5 hours a charge and charges on its own bed. Casio says it does not record speech.

ElliQ is a talking tabletop companion for older adults who live alone. It is leased, not bought. ElliQ's store lists a $249.99 fee plus $49.99 a month on an annual plan or $59.99 month to month. It is not an emergency device. Aging agencies in some states, including New York, have offered it free, so check with your local Area Agency on Aging first. Our elderly care guide covers it in depth.

Gifts for pet owners and home watchers

Enabot's EBO Air 2 is a tiny driving camera with a laser toy for pets. Enabot's store listed it at $179, down from $199. Digital Camera World liked its 2K wide camera and the fun of driving it, but found preset actions fiddly and warned the novelty may wear off.

The EBO X ($799 on Enabot's store, down from $999) is a bigger rolling home monitor with a 4K camera and Alexa. Digital Trends praised its privacy shutter but found it hard to recommend for most homes. Both have cameras, so think about who will be on screen before you give one.

Holiday 2026 buying tips

  • Order early. LivingAI says Emo ships about 2 weeks after you order. Ropet takes 1 to 3 business days to process, then 5 to 10 days to reach the US.
  • Check where it ships. Ropet does not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, P.O. boxes or military addresses.
  • Check returns. Ropet takes returns within 30 days of shipment. Anton Robots says LivingAI wants items unused and returned within 14 days.
  • Add the hidden costs. Vector, Miko Max, aibo after year 3 and ElliQ all have ongoing fees.
  • Charge it before you wrap it, so the robot works the moment it is opened.
  • Ask about WiFi. Emo needs 2.4 GHz WiFi and ElliQ needs WiFi to work at all.
