Quick verdict · checked Oct 30, 2026

The E18 is for small, fairly flat yards whose owners want the easiest possible setup, since it needs no wire and no RTK station. Both testers had it mowing within minutes and liked the even cut, but PCWorld found it weak on slopes, confused by glare and stones, and unable to work in the dark. Skip it for hilly or large lawns.

Best for: small flat yards and easy setup. Skip if: your lawn is hilly or you want night mowing.

Pros

  • No wire or RTK station
  • Setup in 10 to 30 minutes in tests
  • Even cut from the first mow
  • Quiet at 56 dB
  • Remembers the yard after reinstall

Cons

  • Weak on slopes in PCWorld's test
  • Cannot mow in the dark
  • Sun glare and walkway stones confused it
  • Narrow 8 in cut means long mow times

What independent reviewers found

On a small but complex yard it was running in under 30 minutes and mapped about 400 sq ft in under 10 minutes. Cut was even from the first mow, but slopes needed no go zones, tall weeds were flagged as obstacles, and glare and walkway stones confused it. Rear wheel drive felt underpowered.
PCWorld (TechHive)
Setup took about 10 minutes and mapping about 45 minutes, the fastest the site had tested. Detected and avoided toys, furniture and a dog, then went back to mow the missed area. Ran up to 26° slopes without issues; battery drained relatively quickly on larger yards.
