FarmBot Genesis is the only consumer robot that plants, waters and weeds a whole bed on its own, aimed at tinkerers, schools and food growers who enjoy setup and software. At $5,995 for about 48 sq ft it is a project more than a time saver, and we found no independent hands on review of a current kit, so most home gardeners should skip it.
Best for: tinkerers and school gardens. Skip if: you want a cheap, low effort helper.

Questions buyers ask
Does FarmBot come with a garden bed?
No. You supply the raised bed, soil, garden hose and internet. The kit mounts its tracks on your bed.
Is FarmBot Express still sold?
No. FarmBot put the cheaper Express and Express XL kits on hold in May 2024; only Genesis and Genesis XL are offered.
When does v1.9 ship?
FarmBot's pre order page says manufacturing is expected to finish in early December, then orders ship weekly in order received.
