Quick verdict · checked Oct 23, 2026

A strong vacuum for the money, with top three carpet sand pickup out of 175+ robots in Vacuum Wars testing and zero hair wrap. Its weak spot is obstacle avoidance: with no camera it avoided only 7 of 24 objects and snags on cables. Pick it for tidy homes with lots of rugs, not for floors with cords, socks and pet messes.

Best for: tidy homes with carpet and rugs. Skip if: your floors have cables, socks or pet messes.

Roborock does not publish replacement intervals on its US store, so we do not estimate a 3 year cost. Digital Citizen says replacement dust bags cost a little under $20 for 18, and Roborock rates each bag for up to 7 weeks, so bags alone should cost little. Digital Citizen also noted few spare parts come in the box.

Strong on hard floors with good corner cleaning and quiet low water mopping at about 55 dB, but it often got stuck on cords and needed two passes on low pile rugs.

How is it different from the original Qrevo Curv?

Notebookcheck says the S5X drops the AdaptiLift chassis and the Hello Rocky voice assistant but keeps the brushes, obstacle sensors and hot water dock.

Does it have a camera?

No. It uses structured light only, which is why Vacuum Wars scored it 7 of 24 on obstacles.

Is it good on carpet?

Vacuum Wars measured 93% sand removal, among its top three results, though Digital Citizen found thick rugs needed two passes.
