Robot that cleans the bathroom: what you can buy, what is a gimmick, what is still a demo
No single robot cleans a whole bathroom in a US home as of October 2026. A robot vacuum mop can do the floor, a window robot can do large shower glass, and self cleaning toilets mist or rinse the bowl. Toilet scrubbing robots and humanoid cleaners are either old gadgets, commercial machines or teleoperated services.
Researched by Riley Hart · updated Oct 23, 2026 · How we research
As of October 23, 2026, you cannot buy one robot that cleans a whole bathroom. You can cover parts of it. A robot vacuum mop ($250 to $1,700) handles the floor if you pick up the bath mat. A window robot ($199 to $700) can wipe large flat shower glass. Self cleaning toilets and bidet seats, such as TOTO's S7A seat at about $1,088 on Walmart, mist or rinse the bowl but do not scrub it. True bathroom scrubbing robots like Somatic and Primech's Hytron are commercial only, and Tau Robotics' humanoids that scrub toilets in San Francisco are remote controlled by people.

Robots in this guide: price and status
The honest answer: no robot cleans a whole bathroom yet
A bathroom is the hardest room for a home robot. It has water, tight corners, a toilet base, small rugs, and surfaces at every height. No consumer robot sold in the US scrubs a toilet, a tub and a sink on its own as of October 2026.
What you can do today is split the job. Let a robot do the floor and the shower glass, let a smart toilet keep the bowl cleaner, and do the scrubbing yourself. That covers the most frequent work, not the worst work.
Floors: a robot vacuum mop is the one that really works
This is the part of the bathroom robots handle well. Any good robot vacuum mop can sweep up hair and mop tile. Our floor list runs from the $249.99 TP-Link Tapo RV30 Max Plus to the $1,699.99 Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete as of October 23, 2026.
Bathrooms add three problems. First, the doorway threshold. Roborock claims the Saros 20 climbs double thresholds up to 3.46 in, and Vacuum Wars saw it clear a 57 mm step. Cheaper models like the Eureka E10s handle about 20 mm. Second, hair wraps around brushes, so look for anti tangle rollers. Third, water. Eufy's own guide says to dry the floor first, pick up bath mats and small items, and keep mopping light rather than running a robot through puddles.
Spinning pad mops with an extending arm, like the Saros 20, reach closer to the toilet base and baseboards than a flat pad. Expect to wipe the gap behind the toilet by hand.
Shower glass: window robots can help
Window robots stick to glass with suction and wipe it in a pattern. Ecovacs says its Winbot can clean glass shower doors on its own and claims it removes soap scum and hard water stains. Its own guide still suggests scraping stubborn edges and tracks by hand.
On our window list, prices run from $199 for the Mova N1 to $699.99 for the Winbot W3 Omni, whose station washes its pad. Ecovacs lists a 3 mm minimum glass thickness for the W3 Omni. A large frameless panel is the easy case. Small framed doors leave more edge for you, and these robots do nothing for tile walls or the tub.
Toilets: self cleaning seats beat toilet robots
Smart toilets and bidet seats do not scrub, but they reduce how often you have to. TOTO's S7A Washlet seat mists the bowl with EWATER+ before and after use and was listed at $1,088 on Walmart when checked. TOTO's Neorest toilets add a UV light, and Apartment Therapy reported a list price of about $10,000 in 2019. American Standard's ActiClean dispenses cleaner from a cartridge at the press of a button. Apartment Therapy found mixed owner reviews and noted the seat, lid and base still need hands on cleaning.
Toilet scrubbing robots exist, but they are old gadgets. The Giddel robot clipped under the seat and spun a brush around the bowl for about 5 minutes. It sold for $499.99 on Amazon in 2019, and Tom's Guide concluded a regular brush is faster and much cheaper. SpinX, a lid that scrubs the bowl and sprays the seat in a claimed 90 seconds, raised money on Kickstarter in 2017 with a $198 pledge and a planned $350 retail price. We could not confirm that SpinX ever shipped widely, so do not count on it.
Showers and tubs: no real robot for homes
There is no consumer robot that scrubs a shower or tub as of October 2026. Automatic shower cleaners such as the Scrubbing Bubbles unit hang from the shower head and spray cleaner for a few seconds. A 2006 KCBD test found it sprayed only to about chin height and does not scrub. Handheld electric spin scrubbers save your arms but are tools, not robots.
Bathroom robots for businesses, and humanoids that claim it
Real bathroom cleaning robots exist, but only for commercial restrooms. Somatic's robot sprays and scrubs floors, cleans toilet seats and moves between bathrooms. Fox News reported in 2023 that businesses could lease it for $1,000 a month, with no home version announced. Primech AI's Hytron cleans toilet bowls, urinals, sinks, mirrors and floors. The Robot Report said it would debut at CES 2026 with mass production slated for early 2026, sold as a monthly service with no published price.
For homes, the only humanoid offer that includes toilets is Tau Robotics in San Francisco. Euronews reported in September 2026 that its humanoids vacuum, clear clutter, wipe surfaces and scrub toilets for $30 an hour. They are not autonomous: a trained person controls each robot remotely through its cameras. ABC7 reported the CEO saying vacuuming works well, while a UC Berkeley professor said picking things up and wiping under things remain very hard.
Humanoids you can preorder, such as the 1X NEO at $20,000, do not list bathroom scrubbing as a launch chore that we could find. Treat any humanoid bathroom video as a demo until owners show it.
How to judge a bathroom cleaning robot
- Ask which surfaces it really cleans. Floor, glass and bowl are three different products today.
- Check the threshold height it can climb and measure your bathroom doorway.
- Ask whether it scrubs or only sprays. Sprayers and misting seats slow buildup but do not remove it.
- Ask who is in control. Tau's humanoids are run by a remote person, which means a stranger sees your bathroom.
- Check water ratings in the manual. Eufy warns to keep water out of robot vacuums.
- Look for an independent review. Tom's Guide was blunt about the $500 Giddel.
Buy now or wait
Buy now if your bathroom floor is the chore you hate most. A robot vacuum mop is mature, affordable and worth it. Add a window robot only if you have a large glass shower panel. A bidet seat with bowl misting is a comfort upgrade first and a cleaning helper second.
Wait on anything that promises to scrub toilets, tubs and sinks. Today that means commercial machines or remote controlled humanoids. Check back after independent reviews of home humanoids in 2027.
Questions people ask
Is there a robot that cleans the whole bathroom?
Not for homes as of October 2026. Somatic and Primech's Hytron clean restrooms but are commercial only. Tau Robotics offers humanoid cleaning, including toilets, in San Francisco for $30 an hour, but humans remote control the robots.
Can a robot vacuum clean a bathroom floor?
Yes. Most robot vacuum mops handle tile well. Pick up bath mats first, dry the floor, and check that the robot can climb your doorway threshold.
Is there a robot that cleans toilets?
A few gadgets tried. The Giddel robot sold for $499.99 in 2019, and SpinX raised money on Kickstarter in 2017. Neither is a proven current product. Self cleaning toilets and bidet seats that mist or rinse the bowl are the practical option.
Can a window cleaning robot clean a shower door?
Ecovacs says its Winbot can clean glass shower doors. It works best on large flat glass, and you may still need to scrape stubborn edges and tracks.
Is there a robot that scrubs the shower or tub?
No consumer robot does this as of October 2026. Automatic shower sprayers mist cleaner but do not scrub.
Will humanoid robots clean bathrooms?
Tau Robotics' remote controlled humanoids already scrub toilets in some San Francisco homes. No humanoid you can preorder lists autonomous bathroom cleaning as a launch chore that we could find.
