The best known way to get strong suction, LiDAR mapping and a bagged auto empty dock for about $250. RTINGS named the Q7 M5 its best budget robot vacuum, and testers agree it cleans hard floors and carpet well. Long hair still wraps the brush, the mop is basic, and it has no front sensor, so pick up cables first.

The strongest all rounder in this group by published lab results, with 93% sand removal from carpet, no hair wrap and the best coverage per charge here. Vacuum Wars called it its favorite Roborock yet. It is new, so long term owner feedback is thin, and the small bin and weaker obstacle avoidance than Dreame's best are the main trade offs.

Roborock Q7 M5+

  • Tom's Guide: Tested the Q7 M5 robot without the dock: 93.3% overall pickup on tile and 85% on carpet, with 70% of pet and human hair on carpet. Human hair caught on the brush roll and the mop only handled light dirt. Source

  • Vacuum Wars (2.01 Vacuum Wars stars): Above average suction and navigation speed, but average results on embedded sand (75%) and flattened pet hair (79%), 43% hair wrap, and heavy water use when mopping. Source

  • EFTM: Strong on deep pile carpet and cleaned jam and Vegemite off hard floors with no residue; mapping confused mirrored doors and the clean water tank lasted about two runs. Source
