What it means for you

If you live in the US, you cannot buy Cyber X yet, and no US price or date has been given. It also only works with Dreame's X60 vacuums, so the real cost is the carrier plus the vacuum. For a two floor home, a second robot vacuum upstairs is still the simpler and often cheaper answer.

Dreame has put a price on Cyber X, its stair climbing robot. Notebookcheck reported on May 29, 2026, after a Dreame launch event in France, that Cyber X will cost 1,199 euros, with sales from September 2026. That makes it the first stair climbing robot vacuum system with a published retail price.

Cyber X was first shown at IFA in Berlin in early September 2025, where Dreame called it the industry's first stair climbing robot vacuum. It returned at CES in January 2026, where Digital Citizen described it as a concept. Roborock also showed a stair climbing concept at CES that month, but without a price, so Dreame is the first to say what one will cost.

Cyber X is not a vacuum that climbs on its own. It is a carrier on four tracked legs, a system Dreame calls Bionic QuadTrack. The vacuum docks on top and rides it up and down the stairs. Pickr reported that the legs use AI and a laser system to read each step and angle themselves to roll up or down.

It also cleans the stairs. Notebookcheck says two small arms with rotating brushes reach out from the back as it goes down, though it called the stair cleaning limited. Galaxus reported that only vacuuming is possible on stairs, with no mopping, and that each step takes about 27 seconds. On that pace, a typical flight of 13 to 15 steps would take six to seven minutes in each direction before the vacuum starts on the next floor.

Dreame says Cyber X handles straight, L shaped, spiral and open staircases, and stairs made of wood, concrete, metal or carpet, according to Galaxus. At launch it works only with the X60 series vacuums, which Galaxus lists from 1,500 euros for the X60 Pro Ultra Complete. Dreame says future models should also be supported. Basic Tutorials adds that the app can store maps for up to four floors and that the carrier uses 3D sensors to spot step edges.

Reports before the event differed on price. Basic Tutorials expected about 999 euros on May 27, while Notebookcheck's later report gives 1,199 euros as the list price. We use Notebookcheck's figure until Dreame publishes a European store listing.

Notebookcheck suggested the setup only makes sense in homes with three or more floors, since two separate robot vacuums can cost less. Carrying a vacuum on stairs also raises questions no one has answered yet, such as how it copes with toys or pets on the steps and what happens if it slips. No independent long term review existed at the time of the price announcement.

There is no US price or US release date. Dreame's announcements so far cover Europe only, so US buyers should treat Cyber X as a preview.
