Researched by Riley Hart · updated Oct 30, 2026
Is the Anthbot N8 worth it? The N8 is for owners who want a robot that also bags clippings and picks up leaves in fall, and all three testers said collection and auto dumping worked well. It costs $1,699 as of Nov 4, 2026, and 3 independent reviewers tested it.
The N8 is for owners who want a robot that also bags clippings and picks up leaves in fall, and all three testers said collection and auto dumping worked well. It is long, loud in collection mode, weak at edges and misses small objects like tennis balls. Skip it for tight, complex yards or if you only need a quiet mulching mower.
Best for: open lawns with fall leaves. Skip if: your yard has narrow passages or you want quiet mowing.

- RTK station to install
What independent reviewers found
- Editors' Choice. Auto emptying never failed, a 1,200 sq ft area took 97 minutes, a 960 sq ft area used about 80% of the battery, noise was just under 68 dB at 3.28 ft, and up to about 6 in was left uncut at edges.
- PCWorld
- T3 Recommends award. Navigation never lost RTK or failed to dock, leaf pickup matched a push mower that collects about 80% of leaves, but it ignored a tennis ball and a small plant pot and is almost 1 m long with the collector.
- T3
- About 2 hours and just under 200 m² per charge, about 1.5 hours to recharge, about 70 dB at 1 m. Collection worked well, but it missed a tennis ball, bumped a hedgehog dummy in over half the attempts and left wide uncut strips at edges.

Can it collect leaves?
Yes. With the 23 L bin attached it collects clippings and leaves and empties them at up to five spots you set. PCWorld, T3 and Notebookcheck all found this worked well.
Do I need to install an antenna?
Yes, an RTK reference station comes in the box. Network RTK over 4G is an option, with 4G free for one year and then $35.99 a year per PCWorld.
Is it quiet?
Not in collection mode. Anthbot quotes 58 dB for mowing or mulching, but PCWorld measured just under 68 dB and Notebookcheck about 70 dB.
