Ecovacs Deebot X12 OmniCyclone
Roller mop flagship with a bagless dock, best for hard floors
Researched by Riley Hart · updated Oct 16, 2026
Today's price is within 3% of the lowest we know of ($899 during an early Prime Day 2026 deal at Amazon). Black Friday is Nov 27, 2026, 31 days away. Get a price drop alert or see every tracked deal.
The best choice here for mostly hard floor homes that care about mopping and want no dust bags, since its roller mop earned the top combined mopping score in Vacuum Wars testing. It is taller than the others at 3.9 in and reviewers disagree on its obstacle avoidance. Check the street price, because it often sells far below the $1,499.99 store price.
Best for: hard floors and bag free upkeep. Skip if: you have low furniture or lots of cables.

What independent reviewers found
- Called it the best Ecovacs robot it has tested: 100% flattened pet hair, 0% hair wrap, 23 of 24 obstacles avoided and a combined mopping score of 27.4 against a 20.3 average; carpet deep cleaning was average at 76% and crevice pickup below average.
- Vacuum Wars · 3.78/5
- Mopping cleaned tile, vinyl and laminate in two to three passes with strong edges; obstacle detection fell short of flagship level and the AI assistant felt unfinished; 84 minutes for a 75 m² apartment.
- TechReviewer · 8.3/10
- Strong mopping and a quiet dock, but the AI Agent mode got stuck and skipped areas, it hit furniture hard and struggled with cables and small objects; reviewer said it is not worth $1,500.
- Gizmodo
- Roller mop left floors streak free over three months, but dog hair clogged the dock's dust channel after about two weeks and cable avoidance was inconsistent.
- Vacuum Wars (3 month long term)

Questions buyers ask
Does it use dust bags?
No. The OmniCyclone dock is bagless with a 1.6 L bin that Ecovacs rates for up to 48 days, so you empty it into the trash yourself.
Is it good on carpet?
It lifts the roller 15 mm and covers it on carpet, and it scored well on pet hair, but Vacuum Wars measured only average deep carpet cleaning and TechRadar NL found it weaker on carpet than hard floors.
Should I buy the X12 or the newer X12S?
The X12S adds more suction and a stronger dock for about $400 more than the X12's street price, per BGR. The X12 has far more published testing so far.
