Robot that makes the bed: what is on preorder, what is a demo, what failed

No robot that makes the bed is shipping to US homes yet. Weave's Isaac 1 ($7,999) claims bed making and is due in California from fall 2026. Figure showed two humanoids making a bed in May 2026, but sells nothing to homes. Self making bed gadgets like Ohea and Smartduvet never became common.

Short answer

As of October 28, 2026, no robot that makes beds is shipping to US homes. The nearest is Weave's Isaac 1, a $7,999 wheeled robot with two arms that Weave says makes beds, folds laundry and tidies. It is on preorder with first deliveries planned in California in fall 2026 and wider US availability in 2027. Figure showed two humanoids making a bed in under two minutes in May 2026, but Figure has no home price or date. Gadgets that make the bed itself, like the Ohea bed and Smartduvet, never caught on.

Coming in fall 2026: Weave Isaac 1

Weave's Isaac 1 is the only robot with a price and a ship date that claims bed making. It has a wheeled base and two arms. Yanko Design reports it collapses to about three feet when idle and extends to 5 ft 9 in, with an 80 inch vertical reach.

Weave says it collects dirty clothes, empties hampers, folds and puts clothes away, makes beds, straightens cushions and returns clutter to its place. The price is $7,999. Trending Topics also reports a $449 a month option and an optional $99 a month premium subscription with regular updates. First deliveries are planned for California in fall 2026, with broader US availability in 2027.

Weave says a human can take control remotely when needed to complete tasks fully. That means a remote operator may see inside your bedroom. Bed making is a maker claim until reviewers test delivered units.

The demo everyone shared: Figure's two robot bed making

In May 2026, Figure released a video of two of its Helix 02 humanoids tidying a bedroom. According to VnExpress, one hung up a coat, the other put away a laptop and headphones, and then they moved to opposite sides of the bed, fixed the pillows, lifted the comforter together and smoothed it into place.

The article says the task took under two minutes, the video ran at normal speed, and the robots worked autonomously without teleoperation. Figure's AI director said there was no explicit messaging between the robots. Figure gave no price and no date for home buyers. Treat this as a strong demo, not a product.

Other humanoids: 1X NEO and Sunday Memo

The 1X NEO is on preorder for $20,000 or $499 a month, with a $200 refundable deposit for Early Access. 1X says US deliveries start in 2026 but gives no exact date. The order page names only a few example chores, such as getting the door and laundry. Bed making is not listed. For tasks NEO does not know, a 1X expert can remotely supervise it at scheduled times.

Sunday Robotics' Memo is a wheeled humanoid built for dishes, laundry and tidying. eWeek reports that 50 households chosen for its Founding Family Beta will get a Memo in late 2026. Sunday has not published a price, and bed making is not on its stated list.

Gadgets that make the bed for you, and why they faded

Before humanoids, inventors tried to make the bed make itself. In 2012, New Atlas covered the Ohea bed from Spain. A weight sensor waited three seconds after you got up, then arms on the sides pulled the sheet up from the foot of the bed and the pillows reset. It took about 50 seconds. The article said it was not for sale at the time.

Smartduvet took a cheaper route. An air pumped lattice sits inside your duvet cover. When it inflates, it flattens the duvet into place, and an app can start it at a set time. New Atlas listed $289 for a queen size during its Kickstarter campaign. It does not straighten the fitted sheet, which New Atlas noted is the harder part of the job.

Neither became a common household product. They show that bed making sounds simple but needs to handle sheets, pillows and people sitting on the bed.

How to judge a bed making robot

  • Ask if it handles the fitted sheet or only the top layer. Smartduvet only smooths the duvet.
  • Ask how long it takes. Figure's demo took under two minutes with two robots working together.
  • Ask who helps when it gets stuck. Weave and 1X both describe remote human help.
  • Ask what a remote operator can see. Bedrooms are the most private room in the house.
  • Check the plan cost. Isaac 1 is $449 a month and NEO is $499 a month, or $5,388 to $5,988 a year.
  • Check the delivery area. Isaac 1 starts in California only.

Who should buy now and who should wait

If you live in California and want one robot for laundry, tidying and beds, Isaac 1 is the only option with a ship date. Everyone else should wait for independent reviews of delivered units. If bed making is your only goal, the money is hard to justify today. For multi chore humanoids, see our list of every home humanoid on sale or preorder.
